Default Got a few questions!

Im considering a new quad..pretty much any 450..I'd love a KTM 450 but the price drives me away..does anyone know how low a dealer would most commonly go on one of these bikes? (ktm 450 atv)..

2nd question is..could one use a streetbike helmet (full face) to ride atvs? I cant see why not..and It would feel more conveniant for me.

ktm's are too much.. they are nice but are having problems... (so i have heard) as far as a street bike helmet goes you should be good to go but if you ride mud your screen is going to get nice and dirty and scratched up..

i would go with the yfz or the honda out of any of the 450.. both are proven to be great 450's..

Honda 450 for sure, that is if your looking to mod around a little.
it responds to mods great.
if your looking for out of the box performance.
go KTM/CAN-AM/POLARIS.

The TRX450R is an awsome quad. It has great power all around stock but like TB said, just a slip on pipe will be like night and day. With just a pipe you can easily pull wheelies in 3rd and 4th gear. The TRX is the cheapest price wise of all the 450s.

I would seriously consider getting a MX helmet over a Street bike helmet.....they are rated different for different type of impacts.....Most Street bike helmets are not made to take a direct hit on the dirt....they are made to take punishment from sliding across pavement but I am sure one would be better than nothing.

How? He said it was full face. But get a nice Fox Tracer helmet for 140 bucks. I have taken chunks out of these helmets and my noodle still works for the most part!

There was just a good article on helmets in Quad Magazine explaining on how they are rated

as long as it is DOT approved you should be good.. but remember fit and comfort mean alot when it come to helmets.. it would be wise to invest in a good brain bucket... when you look at a price tag just remember is my head worth that... good rule of thumb

Yup..I have that issue in my schoolbag..along with 4 others ^.^
Thanks for the responses..I was leaning towards the ltr out of all the 450s because I could pop on a cherry bomb, and have plenty of enough power I would need (never had any type of sport..vehicle before..but have ridden blaster and piped, cam moded yfz)..and wouldnt need to spend 1000+ on new a-arms etc. Seems like the best bike for me. And bout helmets..Cant see why mud would be aproblem over regular goggles..same thing really..only diff is I dont need goggles...and Id probly look retarded at riding spots with a streetbike helmet but..who cares..id be having fun!
