2001 Arctic Cat 250 Oil Level Check

Just bought a 2001 arctic cat 250 and don't know how to check the atv for the proper oil level. The only place I see you might could check would be at the rear of the ATV where you add the oil.

How do you know if you have enough oil and its not running low on oil?

How much oil does it take to change the oil?

Any links for free owners manuals around for the 2001 250?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

3.5 qts. You check it with that little round glass window, Half way up there, or 3.5qts with filter.

I don't see the little round glass. Where is it located?

Maybe I'm wrong and the 01 does not have it but I'd be surprised...On the right side of the engine is the oil level sight window.

It's round, clear, about 1" in diameter.

Usually there is a glass sight circle or in the fill hole a small dipstick.

i have a 2000 and it dosent have any window in it ... i just make shure that i can touch the oil with the tip of my finger in the hole about half an inch in the hole ... its crazy that some have the window ans some dont ... mine is a good lod quad and starts easyer than my newer kawasaki Vtwin powered quads

I don't think that link goes back as far as 2001. Here is a cheat sheet: (Note the numbers may vary if dry with an oil cooler)
