Arctic Cat 500 2006 "BELT"

Recommended Posts

"Belt" message appeared on console screen. Does that mean a loose belt and either needs tightening or replaced? I kept going and turn off ignition. Could not start again. Not even a grunt, new battery. Partner jumped and I was able to do all my errands and drive home. (Total 2 hours). battery still dead. What am I looking at as to possible diagnosis and corrections?

The "Belt" indicator was for the V-twins with the Kawasaki motor. From your description that does not sound right. Sounds like the pod got messed up I don't think your machine has a belt sensor. It meant it was time to change the belt.

You have t find out what happened why it wouldn't start back up. Your battery could have just up and died.

Mike. This is an embarrassment. I did not get the jump start by using the solenoid post. Not the battery. I left the battery cover in place since we were on the trail. When I got home I just plugged in the charger to a plug outside. Tonight I tried to start and it was still stone dead. Here is where I got embarrassed. Removing the battery cover I found the positive bolt and nut gone and the cable was dangling loose. The battery is fine and the trail ride tonight uneventfull. So this is a very long story to feed and explain my red face. Sorry for taking your time. Yes, you can chuckle at my expense.

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!

Bucking started about a month ago and works ok after 1/2 hour warmup.  Today while working on it i discovered that if i put the ignition switch in LIGHT position it runs fine right from the start.
I'm stumped!  Any idea why this could be?

Hello guys, I hope I am not invading your space, but as you can see the current state of my project here it's not but about 50% ATV. I am hoping that some one here can point me to a wiring schematic that I can reference since the "Complete wiring harness" i purchased from Amazon did not include a diagram of any kind.

The ones that I am finding on line vary greatly but none show the connections for the separate 5 wire connector coming from the motor.

Can someone tell me where these wires go?

Thanks in advance for all help!

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.
