I did a compression test on my 2005 Bombardier Traxter 650 CVT and it's 75 PSI. service manual only talks about leak down test. No specification for engine compression the manual. What does 75 PSI tell me? Thank in advance.
A little history of this machine. 640 miles. Picked it up about 2 years ago, not running. Probably the computer. Tested all circuits and confirm it was the computer. Long story short, I watched a Youtube video and fixed the computer. ATV now started and runs. BUT, it tops out 20 MPH. I cleaned the carb 3 times also using a Mikuni carb kit after the second time. Slide in carb is going up and down. Only adjustment for fuel is at 1.5 turns out. NGK Sparkplug had soot on main part but brown on the electrode. Champion sparkplug is brown. I check CVT clutches and they both appear to engage like they suppose to. Checked valve clearance it's 0.00, I can't get any feeler gauges in-between. I check timing chain I believe it's in the correct position and hasn't skipped. I removed muffler plug and drilled into muffler to try and make sure it wasn't plugged.

I am looking for what you would consider the best ATV winch for under $125. Thanks in advance.

The gas in the tank was bad so I drained it and put new fuel in. It still wouldn't run so I took the carb out and cleaned it. Re-installed the carb and now it will only start and run under full throttle. It also runs rough like this. The engine stops running once I back out to 1/4 throttle. What the heck is going on?

while troubleshooting an intermitant stalling issue we came across a fuel line rubbing on the frame where the fuel line comes from the injector and goes up to the pump. about 2" up from the injector the line runs next to the frame, and it appears that the coil plug wire has a rubber tab that may be is supposed to protect it from the frame. The bike has about 1400 miles on it and the line has some serious wear. it looks like over time it would be a hole. Ended up wrapping a piece of rubber around it to protect it. Will attach pics if allowed.

Looking at the schematic, it looks to me like if the switch were to go open/bad, it would break the ground connection to the CDI box? If that were to happen, that would cause a no spark condition Can anyone confirm this? At this time, no spark is my problem and measures 0 volts to the cdi box? Thanks 🙂
