anyone ever clear coat their plastics?

hey, this may hav been posted before but has anyone clear coated there plastics! what brand did u use? i used polyurathane clear gloss and got a fantastic finish.

I've done it on my old bikes! I used the same stuff.

Lasted probably 2 seasons, No, I didn't rough mine up. I just cleaned the hell out of the plastic and did about 4-5 very thin coats.

did it fade or chip off, cause i sanded mine so it may prevent this, and did u brush on or spray?

I just did spray. It eventually started to chip. Actually now that I think back, I used a clear coat specificly for plastic. Didn't require roughing up the surface.

I will have to look into it for you. I don't remember. This was about 3 years ago on a different machine that I no longer own.
