cocky wife + ATV =

well......day started out really well. Took my wife out to Knolls (sand dunes and dry lake beds in western Utah) to ride the ATV's. Very nice morning into early afternoon. This was Laurie's second time riding in her life. She did fantastic on the sand and the hard pack.

Then it all changed in a flash. She got cocky. We went out on the dry lake bed and she decide to get the bike into 4Th gear and she decided to turn way to sharp to head back to where I was. I watched my wife turn into Superwomen flying about 30 feet from the ATV that was now rolling over 3 times. She landed VERY HARD on her right shoulder and snapped her clavicle in half. (even the ER doctor was impressed how bad she snapped it) When I got to her side I could see her eyes had rolled back into her eye socked. Thank God I bought her a very good helmet. She was out for about 7 minutes.

The thing she was the maddest about was she can't ride for 6 weeks....I love this women. Her ATV goes to the ATV doctor on Tuesday....it needs help too.

We are home, she is still high from the Morphine and other stuff they gave her.

sorry to hear about ur wifes crash,i have been in a similar situation and know how she feels,hope she has a speedy recorvery,as for the quad,it can be replaced,she can't....good luck

well I know the wife is because she is right next to me knocked out on pain pills:yes:

When the dog gets home I will have to give him a urine test to make sure he was not out with his poodle friend partying:skeptic:

Glad to hear the wife will be ok. I'm glad she wants to get back on and ride again, alot of times people get freaked out and never ride again. I hope she recovers fast. Make sure to always wear them helments.

I was surprise how she was upset that she wasn't going to be able to ride for awhile. Yesterday I ordered her a new helmet. She wants her damaged helmet in her office to show her friends why you wear a helmet

That is an unfortunate story and it is amazing how fast things can go bad.

The wife is doing better. Went to the ortho doc yesterday and he is hoping she wont have to have surgery.

As far as the home cooked meal...as long as the microwave is working there will be home cooking on the table:yes:

Keep me updated on the trip.....I have Ping golf demos on the 9th and 11th of June. So I could meet somewhere to ride on the 10th.

Hey my house is always open if any one is making a road trip to Salt Lake City.....could head out to the largest sand dunes in Utah....Little Sahara

update.......no surgery yet. The Doctor wants to give the bone more time to see if it will heal by itself.

That's the good news. Bad news. We were in Puerto Vallarta on vacation and my wife slipped on some marble stairs and might have broke her tail bone.

update.....after 10 weeks the clavicle did not mend so she had surgery to fix it. She had to have a plate put on the two pieces of her broken clavicle and 6 screws to hold the plate on the bone. The big problem was that they had to do a bone graft to get the two pieces of bone to mend. They took the bone graft from just below her knee. Her clavicle feels good ....her leg is killing her.

Well here is hoping for a speedy recovery!
