Osama Bin Laden Dead!

Recommended Posts

If it's true I am happy and I hope he's in hell right now realizing he gets no virgins and is being but raped next to hitler and saddam. But with some of the reports of him being buried out to sea and no other evidence makes me raise some suspicions. But either way good riddance. Thank you to the men and women that have served and thank you to the special forces that brought this evil person down.

Well said Jonny.

I think if Osama bin Laden was not dead he would have to come forward with a video to prove to the world he was not killed by the USA. So with nothing surfacing I believe he is dead.

The only thing that is very upsetting is that Obama is taking all the credit for the victory. The same president who tried to cut troops pay and benifits. I am not sure if Obama would be willing to risk his life like our Troops fighting overseas.

I would like to know how the 2 shots to the head happened being he was supposedly unarmed. I know they said he resisted, but did he run and they pegged him off? Did they walk up to him and shoot him? Was it by pistol? No matter what it was...just interested how it went down. I'm sure there will be a movie down the road!!!

I don't think he is dead. Too convenient to have it happen on May 1 the same day Hitler was confirmed dead and also heading into the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I watched the Loose Change documentary and dont believe anything our government says about that anymore either. If you havent seen that check it out. I found my copy on EBAy. All of a sudden now Obama (only one letter away) is the man again when just last week he sucked eggs and noone could wait to get him out of office.

I think he may have died a while ago via natural causes if not a few days ago. There is some buzz about that. With proof I may be inclined to believe it but if you can photoshop a birth certificate you can photoshop some pictures.

I don't think if Osama was alive today he would be able to sit there and listen to the USA cheer for victory without making some kind of statement.

I agree that if he was if fact still alive he would have said something about it, and not just stood by while all of America cheers about his death. But i did hear that they apparently did the DNA test on a boat in the middle of the ocean.. Sounds a little strange to me.

A little bit of click bait there with the title because in the grand scheme of things, what the hell does a virus have to do with your ATV except maybe give you a little more time to ride if you are out of work or school!
In all seriousness, how's everyone doing? Here in lower NY, its getting a little crazy...
Schools are closed all week, might be longer as they issued every grade that didn't have one, a chromebook and google classroom (preparing for remote learning) Some stores are out of things like disinfecting wipes, sprays, rubbing alcohol, tylenol, toilet paper, pasta, and other basic necessities. (panic buying in full force) Many people (including myself) are working from home, no more travel for the next few weeks. Interesting times and I hope no one gets sick! Stay healthy!

Hi everyone, this is my first post so bear with me. I recently purchased a late 80's suzuki quadrunner 250 4x4 (so i am told at least). The guy i bought it from was riding it when i showed up to look at it so i know it runs. He needed to use starting fluid and had to pull start it because the starter would just whirl when you hit the start button. He said he thinks the flywheel is bad. I dont think that is the issue. So i purchased it and took it home and was tinkering with it and i could get it started but only with starting fluid and the pull starter(which by the way is incredibly hard to pull) and when started it would run only while i kept throttling it. So i figure its a fuel problem. So i proceed to clean the petcock and give her new gas and clean the carb and spark plug. When taking off the petcock i noticed the rubber gasket was in bad condition and would need replaced. I decided to go to local autoparts store and get gas resistant gasket maker. when i get back to the quad my neighbor who was helping me(15 year old kid) had decided to take the repairs into his own hands and put it back together and get it started. That kid dogged me. Not on purpose but none the less screwed me pretty good. I didnt lose my temper and i just asked him what all he did. He said nothing just put it back together. Well kids dont always tell the truth. He kinda dropped a screw out of the carb and didnt tell me. He said he stripped the petcock screw and now couldnt remove it. He did drop the stripped screw earlier before i went to store and i found it on the skid plate. well he dropped another screw as well ive come to find out. So i tried to start it and couldnt get it to fire over at all and the starting fluid can seemed to have lost all its propellant magically when i was gone. i decide to take it back apart to where i had it before i left and see that the petcock is missing one of the filters now and that the port on it is blocked with this rusty pebble stuff. Drain out my new gas and take flashlight to the tank and see more of that crud in the bottom. i try to rinse it out but cannot do it. Then i try taking the tank off and cant. its seems i may have to remove the entire motor for that. i also see a spring and o ring on the skid plate when i remove it. very shiny spring and a clean o-ring. Notice the screw next to the idle screw is missing on the carb. checked the parts diagram and see its missing the air fuel adjustment screw. I also see why i couldnt remove the petcock screw as well. the nut that is recessed in the tank where it mounts at is pulled out a little and spins now when i try tightening it up. I could really use a manual guys. can anyone help me or give me advice on how to repair this machine? Any advice on how to operate it as well would be appreciated. I dont have any experience with this type of quad. Dont understand the decompression thingy and dont understand the starter just whirling.

      Hi All,
Following on from the brief interlude in the "introducing myself" thread....

In a nutshell, I acquired a YFM250 Moto 4 (1991) for cheap recently with the previous owner citing "no spark, needs a new magneto coil and I don't have time to fix it"... anyway I am dubious that the magneto/generator is the issue and thinking more along the line of ignition coil as after a clean up of the magneto I was able to get a rather decent voltage reading off the magneto with pull start and resistence readings seem to check out that the magneto is all ok (all 3 x phases = 1.2 ohms and no run to ground)
None the less I ordered a new Ignition coil and Magneto/generator coil and am waiting for them to arrive.

In the mean time I cleaned up the current Magneto, popped in a new battery and sparkplug, checked out all the wiring harness, all seemed good except I came across the "neutral switch" wire was broken.

After wiring up a new neutral switch wire, the neutral light now comes on  (small win) and the starter relay (attached to rectifier) now clicks. If I hit the starter switch on handle bar the starter motor spins and if I  pull the cord starter I get a spark on pull....YAY!! I'll try and attach a video below if possible.

So onto the starter motor. Starter solenoid seems to work A-ok, even if it looks crappy and starter motor spins as it should when I hit the start switch....but here is my issue.

When the starter motor runs it turns Cog #1 and Cog #2 (see photo below)....but the chain in the back of the starter which I assume is the timing chain, does not move and there is no apparent movement of the piston in the cylinder.

If I turn it by hand (per photo) or with the pull starter however the chain moves and the engine turns. However cog #2 rotates but not fluidly with the "Crank" (part I turn by hand) for the lack of a better word to use if that makes sense?

Is there a grub screw or similar on Cog #2 that fixes it to the center shaft to make it all turn when the starter motor is run? Could there be a part missing? Previous owner had the starter apart so could be possible?

The outer/front part seems to be on a key-way so not sure how to remove this easily to check how Cog #2 is attached.

      What am I missing here?
