Honda 300 Fourtrax regulator/rectifier testing

Is there a simple test (with multi meter) to determine if regulator/rectifier on Honda 300 Fourtrax is bad? I was told that battery voltage will show slight increase when RPM raised to 3000. My bike will not increase It starts/runs great but headlights get very dim when RPM is raised. Any details would be appreciated!

I am sure there is a test for that, either get a manual, talk to someone who has one, or ask a dealer about the test specs and procedure.

Do you have a tachometer. If so, rev the engine and measure the voltage. The voltage should be greater than the battery voltage, but less than 15.5 volts. If it remains the same, it's not charging on load.
