If your a Mx rider I wouldn't go witht the TRX just because the suspension blows unless you have a few thousand bucks to trow at it right away for a suspension.TRX is great trial bike though.I would go with a suzuki or a yamaha if I were you Honda just doesn't seem to be keeping up to these guy's on the suspension dept.

Just my 2 cents everyone has there prefrence.

The TRX suspension is not that bad, the thing is no one takes the time to set up their suspension. I will agree that the new YFZ and the Suzuki are track ready at 50" wide with a bit better suspension. No other 450 quad pulls as hard as the TRX coming out of turns. The unicam allows it to rev faster than the DOHC machines. The handling on the TRX is absolutely crisp. I think it is the most comfortable 450 quad available. Honda has always had the best ergonomics. Plus, no other machine responds to aftermarket upgrades like the TRX. Plus it is a Honda, it will last forever.(as long as you take care of it) There is a reason that 80% of Baja 1000 ATV entries are on the TRX450.

They are both completely different when it comes to ergonomics. Sit on them before you get set on one. The TRX is possibly the best all around 450, with a new rear linkage from G T Thunder - Technology on the move!!!!!!!! the handling is increased on what is one of the best handling already. They also rebuild stock shocks to make them just as good as aftermarket for a hell of a lot cheaper. If you are tall, you will most likely feel cramped on the YFZ.

All this talk about the 450's, and not even one iota about the Can Am's......WTF! haha I've had my 08 for just over a year, and except for an oil leak caused by a couple of rolls, and air leaks in the tired caused by lowering my air pressure too much at Pismo and getting sh** in the bead. other than that, no problems at all. :) and as of 09, they have 2 kinds of 450X's, one is XC and on is MX, main difference is the width of the stance.

Try to test ride all of them and see which one feels best to you, that will probably be the best platform to start with. Being comfortable is probably the most important thing since all of the major manufacturers make great performing 450's. They all have their high and low points and what one guy likes about one, the next guy might hate.

I’m looking for a top end kit for a Yamaha. I would like to see how well the engine runs before spending $6-$7 hundred on oem. Niche has complete kits from $1-$2 hundred.  Anyone have experience with Niche or similar Chinese companies?

Bucking started about a month ago and works ok after 1/2 hour warmup.  Today while working on it i discovered that if i put the ignition switch in LIGHT position it runs fine right from the start.
I'm stumped!  Any idea why this could be?

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.
