2008 KFX 450R - Exhaust Install Questions

I have a 2008 Kawasaki KFX 450R. Looking to put an exhaust onto it, since the stock one is getting some rust build up on it. I have a few questions though, since i would like to do it my self and not have to take it to an ATV shop.

1. If i was to buy a slip on exhaust for my KFX 450R, does anything else need to be done to my ATV besides just taking off the old pipe and installing the new one?

2. If i was to buy a brand new FULL exhaust for my KFX 450R, besides installing it what else needs to be done with the quad to have it run correctly? Is there any jets or anything that need to be adjusted? If so how do i got about doing that?

Any feed back from anyone would be helpful...thanks

i have a dmc efi controller for my raptor. i like it works pretty good. i have the dmc duals with it. theres lots of companies that make them . its all in what you want and how much you want to pay. pretty much every exhaust company makes them now. and they program fuel maps to run with their exhaust.

alhtough this is an older thread, but if you went a head and want a full exhaust save up more money and go ahead and get your big 3. intake, programmer and exhaust. you said you ahve the K&N filter is that the drop in K&N or the actual K&N intake system? the big restriction on the 450 if the intake. The full exhaust will give you gains but the intake will give you greater gains. at your sea level a programmer is crucial if you do either or cause the stock ecu can't handle that large of a jump into a lean condition. but if you're looking for an idea. on my 450 I have 13" dasa(loud as hell not recommended for trail riding go with the 15" can), procom ecu, and FCI intake. But I'm going to change my controller to a Power Commander V with the auto-tune feature for when I change altitude we go from 5000 up to 12,000 and the auto-tune will help compensate for the changes. A regular PCIII and Procom won't adjust to altitude.

      Hi everyone.
Let me explain the thread title.
My husband and I are very active in the nudist community, and we have stayed at many and most of the mainstream nudist and clothing optional campgrounds in the USA. We are now approaching our retirement and would like to start a podcast to share those off the road / backwoods / little known camping areas where nudity is allowed. We have purchased a 5th wheel camping trailer with a rear garage for the ATV and now need some good reports on the one to buy.
We are most interested in a side by side unit but would love to get your thoughts.
Feel free to stop by and say Hi and ask anything you would like to better understand what we are looking for in an offroad unit.
Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you.

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.
