2009 Kawasaki Prairie 360 - Rev Problem

I have a 09 prairie 360 it's like brand new I only use it for work around the house and plowing. I drain the carb after every time I ride it, it's not a carb issue. When I go full throttle it feels like a rev limiter is kicking in, just like when I go in reverse without the override. I asked the dealer and they told me it to do a belt reset and check the belt. I did the belt reset and the belt is fine. At one point it went away for a couple of months and then it came back. The dealer said it might some kind of a sensor for the belt. Any ideas

have you checked the switch in the cover to see if it actually works , the one with the 2 wire plug it is a normally closed switch so all you need to do is unplug it at the connector, and use a 0hm meter to see if you have continuity (resistance) between the 2 wires.

a video from youtube about resetting the belt ...

I have not done that yet. So if I have continuity between the two leads the switch is good, and if I don't have continuity is the switch bad? Do you check it with the key on or off? Thanks

Maybe this will help if it does please let me know. I had a customer bring me 7 KAWI 360s. 5 of them had the spring in the top of the carb broken. some showed sytpoms as you describe and some did not. I would not advise removing the top of your carb. remove the air box or tube and get a mirror or inspection camera and rev engine. See if vaccum piston is moving up and down. If its not then remove the top and inspect the rubber part of the vaccum piston for holes in it. you may find the spring in several pieces. Spring is made of wire small wire gauge if you ask me. I dont think draining a carb is a good idea for storage. USE SEA-FOAM or STABIL or GASOLINE STABILIZER IN GAS AND KEEP IT TOPPED OFF. You wud not empty a milk jug, leave it out for a few days, put milk back in it and drink it wud you? Gas thats in carb after draining is spoiling faster than it wud if you did not do anything. IMOP

Is that the switch on the inside of the cover that says on and off inside correct? Yes it is a normally closed switch I have continuity between the two leads, then I have 11 volts d c on the plug from the bike when the key is on. The dealer said it is a sensor that is telling the quad that the belt is worn or no good, and it is cutting the quad out. Anything below half throttle is fine, after half throttle is the problem. The dealer said it is one of two sensors but they also said its crazy to change both of them because they are very expensive. I have a video of what it's doing but I am new to these forums and don't know how to post it, if someone can walk me through posting it I would appreciate it or I can email it to you.

Im at my wits end with this quad. Ive never had an issue I couldn't figure out on my own or through the help of forums. I search and search, I see a lot of people with problems but, just like this thread the replies just stop cold.

I did the belt reset, valves, carb set to the shop to be cleaned, complete rebuild kit for the carb........

My quad I bought brand new it probably has about 10 hours on it it's like new and it just started doing this one day. I did the same thing brought it to the dealer they cleaned the carb did not work they wanted to check the valves but I wouldn't let them, I know it's nothing to do with the motor or the carb. If I were you I would hold out on the new carb, they are very expensive. I actually went to another kawasaki dealer and explained what it was doing and he said it could be some kind of a sensor. But I haven't tried it, just tired of wasting my money and nothing working. But if you figure anything out please let me know.

SO YOUR AKWI HAVE THE "WAA WAA WAA WAAAAS".? Its like the rev limiter is kicking or your going in reverse too fast? try a couple things. 1st when it does this turn the headlight on, any change? take the gas cap off any change?, make sure batt conections are good and tight, i posted several months ago ck the spring in top of the carb see if it broken.

      Hey I have a 1997 big bear 350 4x4
I replaced the shifter shaft and the shift arm linkage and the rod when I installed them all I was unaware that you had to line the dot on the shifter shaft with the gap on the linkage arm gap put it all back  together and rode it I can't get it to shift in the right gears  I can move the shift cam by hand and goes in different gears but with the shifter shaft in it riding I can't put it in R or N
Anyone know how to line up the shifter shaft and the shift cam s

      Hi Guys!

New member and could really use your advice. I would have to believe this has been an issue for others but a search here came up with nothing......? (Probably me not doing search correctly)

      I have an 87 Big Bear 350 YFM350FWT
The OEM Mikuni BTM carb is shot and would rather replace than rebuild.
It is no longer made and I have had good luck with NICHE carbs so I ordered a #K-CRB-0006 This was what they said was replacement when ordered. This Carb only uses 1 Throttle cable. The Slide is linked so it uses one. (OEM had 2nd cable coming through top to move slide)

Problem is when I ordered a replacement Cable from NICHE (#C-CBL-0061) the Cable wire is a little short, not allowing Throttle to return all the way down to Idle position. I called NICHE and they are at a loss. Haven't gotten back to me after 2+ weeks.

What would you recommend other than a carb rebuild?
Can I just use 1 of the OEM cables (It is the right length) and snip/disconnect the other that went to top of Carb for Slide?
      Or ??

Thanks in advance for any advice you have!!

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!

Have a 1998 AC 300 2x4, Just installed a new carburetor. Engine starts easy but the choke RPMs are very hi and take along time (5-10 mins when cold out). After engine has warmed up choke releases and it idles and runs fine., It does no have an electric choke. The choke lever is never used and it seems like an auto choke? Long story short, how can I lower the choke rpm levels?

Also, carb came with a spare145 jet, not 100% sure what is installed. Could this impact choke RPMs?

Any help and information greatly appreciated.
