Bigger would be better, but also depends on how much. 400 will move some snow.

4X4 400 is fine. You might have to keep up with the snow when it is going to snow alot. I plowed with a 2X4 and as long as I was out there every 4-6" I was fine. With 4X4 you will have more of an advantage. If you are having a hard time you can always do some clutch work.
