I have a 2008 loncin desert storm that wont stay running.
When it ran it ran rough and backfired a lot.
Now it will only start with throttle and there's a lot of unburned fuel (white smoke), there's also compression comming out the airbox. Is it the carburetor that is broken?

With the season pushed further into the fall months and the cancellation of the Loretta Lynn’s round, Lake Sugar Tree in Axton Virginia would host the seventh round of racing.

The 2020 ATV Motocross National Championship Series, an AMA National Championship, returned to competition in Georgia this past weekend with the Bulldog ATVMX National at Aonia Pass MX. This was the first round of racing for amateur riders, but the second round for the AMA Pro ATV riders, after their race at Daytona ATVSX kicked off the season.

The title pretty much explains it all. When using the starter I can hear it spinning but not engaging the engine. The wheels also do not engage with the wheels when the clutch is out. The motor has compression if that helps.
I am new to engine work and repair and I bought this quad with the idea of fixing it up (not knowing the full extent of the damage). The previous owner said it ran but sat for a year (I don’t believe that for a second after opening it up) and had bought a few new plugs and a starter motor, none of which fixed the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have attached a few pics of what I think could be wrong.
