Racing on a sport utility?!?

So, ive been searching for a while but cannot seem to find a racing league for a 16 year old teen that rides a 700cc sport utility quad:aargh:. does anyone know of a league or a series or a something? any help at all would be much appreciated.

Most GNCC style races have an open class where you can run just about any size.

Dirt Trax TV just featured GNCC races at Englishtown, NJ with a stock and modified utility class.

You take the racks off any quad and it can be a sport. Ride it like one and it is one.

Well, i have a 700cc suzuki twinpeaks. i figured it was a sport utility because it just seems sporty. i guess it could be just a utility atv, but im not entirely sure how they classify atvs

im pretty sure a twinpeaks is a utility.... something that would be a sport utility would be the yamaha wolverine...

I think most atvs are either sport or sport utility. Any quad with a rack is a sport utility.

UTVS are utility, except for the new ones like an RZR..I think..

I think it's semantics.....

It may be that people are too lazy (like me!) to type "sport/utility" as opposed to just "utility"....

Suzuki's site has them listed as "Utility Sport"

Popo has them listed TOO many ways! LOL! But, just "Utility"

Different people will tell you different things. They do have a class for the big bore 4x4 quads. Post a pic of what you got.

This is more of a quad cross but it's 4x4 racing. This is the same stuff I raced my quad in.

if u really want to race seriously ur going to need to invest in suspension and engine work.... at least i think so

4x4 Open: (501-840cc) 4-wheel or 2-wheel drive shaft or chain driven automatic transmission/clutch production models that come with rack or rack availability as standard equipment

4x4 Lites: (201-500cc) 4-wheel or 2-wheel drive shaft or chain driven automatic transmission/clutch production models that come with rack or rack availability as standard equipment.

4x4 Limited: (201-840cc) 4-wheel or 2-wheel drive shaft or chain-driven automatic transmission/clutch production models that come with rack or rack availability as standard equipment.

Transmission: V-belt CVT automatic with high/low range sub-transmission, 2WD/4WD front differential

Final Drive: Shaft drive

yeah but i thought i read that it needs to be chain driven? mine is a belt

it also says shaft driven.... which is belt tranmission

most any ATV racing series will classify your Suzuki as a utility quad. What you need to look for is some local Harescramble type series. Yes you could race a national GNCC but that is probaly not the best place to start. I see AMA district 23 has some Quad hare Scrambles:
