2007 Suzuki King Quad 700 Reverse Acceleration Poor

Recommended Posts

Altough I new to the forum I not new to riding. I have been riding for a few years at different parks around the Houston area and enjoy every minute I get to ride. Just recently I have encountered a problem with my quad. After riding the trails I had helped someone back to their vehicle by pulling them. Their front ball joint had snapped so I put my quad in reverse to pull him so I could watch and make sure nothing happened. Ever since then when I go in reverse under heavy acceleration my quad boggs down. I can use the over ride button with no problem when pushed. I have already replaced the belt and cleaned the clutch plates really well. I am at a lose. Any suggestions?

2007 Suzuki King Quad 700 4X4

Thanks

Does it sound like its mechanically (linear) bogging down or electronically (sorta like on then off) when in reverse. Im not familiar with a KQ but maybe someone else knows more

Just as a check...when going forward slowdown to a stop. Do not use the brakes at all. Then shift into reverse and try to accelerate. Sometimes mud gets stuck in the brakes and pushes the pads outward in one direction

No mud stuck in brakes. Once I use the over ride button it hauls butt in reverse. It almost sounds like to me like a slight popopopopop. Maybe its starving for fuel? I ordered a fuel pump thinking maybe this will fix it. (Not installed yet, waiting on shippment) I took it out yesterday for a short test run after I reset the computer and still has same issue. What I have noticed also is in 4wd high and the front locker switch on it does same thing but 4wd low has power.

Are you sure you didn't just notice that this is happening in reverse? My 2005 always bogged down if too fast in reverse which is what the override button was for. It's designed to limit the drive train in reverse to my understanding.

I was gunna suggest that it was designed that way as a failsafe but I was wondering why it happened after the big pull. unless it wasnt working and then it decided to work

Is there anyway to pull codes from this machine???

I wondered also after the pull if something was damaged, but I then remembered going in reverse out of mud and it would sputter like crazy unless I hit the override button. That was on my 2005 King Quad.

Hi, I am having issues with my TRX350D fuel pump.  It suddenly stopped running so I have replaced all the fuses and cleaned all the terminals.  I have fitted a new pump, fuel cut-off relay and rectifier.  Still nothing!!  The pump runs when attached to a battery.  The engine will start on the choke and the filter fills with fuel but it will  not rev and dies when the choke is closed. I have power to the relay but nothing at the pump black/white wire when cranking the engine.  Any ideas where to go from here would be very much appreciated!!

From Arkansas. Just bought a 2012 Gator 850i RSX because I could not pass up the price. BUT it has an idle problem. So, to be honest, I joined just to get a service manual. I have a choice: 1)Buy a hard copy: ~$100; 2)Buy a CD ~$35.00; Get a direct download for free posting 10 times; or get a download for $29.00 (subscription). Haven't decided what to do yet.

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

So I've got a Hisun 550 that I was doing some work on that required removing the CVT and it's housing. Upon attempting to reinstall the clutch, sheaves, etc, I found that the belt no longer fits - it's far too wide. None of the parts have been replaced, they're all OEM. Exactly the same parts as what I took off a few weeks ago.
To be more specific, my belt is 1.25in wide, but the gap between the clutch and the primary sheave is only 7/8in wide. I'll include a few photos to explain.
Has anyone ever experienced such a bizarre problem? Any help at all would be appreciated, I've been stuck on this for a month. I'm open to just about any suggestion.

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!
