1999 Suzuki Quadrunner 250 High Idle

I have just bought this and don't have any problems but the idle is really high then it is in neutral and i don't know where the idle adjustment is. I would also like to know what kind of oil i should put in this ATV because he gave me a oil filter so i could change the oil and i forgot what oil he told me to use.

There should be an idle adjustment screw or rod to turn on the carb. Check your choke also.

You can use any 4 stroke atv oil or go to any atv dealer and they can sell you some. I use 4 stroke Valvoline oil.

i looked and saw on the cap it says 10W40 so ill get some of that.

you wouldn't by chance know where the idle screw is. I have check the choke

Make sure you get oil for wet clutches.

There should be a plastic knob coming out from the left side of the carb, that should be your idle adjustment. You may also want to try adjusting the fuel screw which is located on the underside of the carb toward the front. If neither of those helps or the machine still doesn't run right, you need to start checking for air leaks by spraying carb cleaner around the intake area of the motor.

Buy The Repair Manual For That Machine - It Should Show Where The Idle Adjustment Screws Are - It's Usually The Top Screw On The Side Of The Carburator
