you will find the vin usually on the frame by the motor on the left side (drivers door). you can decode it here :

Yamaha VIN Decoder @ Motoverse.com

a little oil is normal (no more than a couple teaspoons) if you have more, it usually means you overfilled with oil, you have a blocked crankcase vent line or a plugged exhaust. if your rings are bad, the pressure in the combustion chamber will create pressure in the crankcase and force oil up through the vent lines.

I'm going to check the valve clearance on my 2011 Grizz 700 for the first time and I'm also wanting to check the timing, but I'm not sure how to do it. What tool (light gun?) do I need for this job and how is it done?

I can get about 30 mph (speed) Took the filter off still the same. Took the carb off all the jets look good. All new gas. What else could I look at?

Hi, does anyone know where to find the timing marks on the camshaft and how to orient them? I found the line on the crank and lined it up with the arrow on the case, but the only marks I can see on the cam are on the very end where the black plastic cap is. Are these the timing marks and if so how do you line them up?

Any ideas on what would make a coil not fire? She was running fine, then began slow start. Now wont start at all.

      Hey all,
I'm new to this site and to CanAm/Bombardier atv's. I purchased this quad local to my area and shortly after started noticing a knocking noise from the bottom end, which I've been told may need a rebuild.
The atv is complete, but I'm now looking to part it out, unless someone knows where I can get the bottom end rebuilt for a decent price.
I can take some pics of the quad and upload. If you need parts off of it, let me know and make me an offer.
