Hello there i have an 01 raptor 660 and have had a lot of problems..Right now i have replaced my stator, my cdi box, my kill switch and so on.... I am trying to figure out when i try to start it, it will backfire loud as hell like a gun shot, it is pissing my neighbors off lol... I choke it it will pop (not loud though) turn the choke off and start to crank and some of the times it will just blast out the pipe it is a pain and sometimes it will start up great end of story... I have no problems when riding with it back firing or anything...just when i first start it if i ride more than a block or two its good to sit and wont backfire when starting if i go into the store or something....It has a jet kit that the previous owner put on it could that be it..Im debating on rebuilding and cleaning the carbs...Just someone get back to me need this fixed thank you for taking your time to reade!!!

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

Bucking started about a month ago and works ok after 1/2 hour warmup.  Today while working on it i discovered that if i put the ignition switch in LIGHT position it runs fine right from the start.
I'm stumped!  Any idea why this could be?

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.

So I've got a Hisun 550 (clone of a Yamaha Rhino 660) that I was doing some work on that required removing the CVT and it's housing. Upon attempting to reinstall the clutch, sheaves, etc, I found that the belt no longer fits - it's far too wide. None of the parts have been replaced, they're all OEM. Exactly the same parts as what I took off a few weeks ago.
To be more specific, my belt is 1.25in wide, but the gap between the clutch and the primary sheave is only 7/8in wide. I'll include a few photos to explain.
Has anyone ever experienced such a bizarre problem? Any help at all would be appreciated, I've been stuck on this for a month. I'm open to just about any suggestion.
