1995 Yamaha Kodiak 400 - Carb Problem

I have a Problem. I rebuilt the Carburator on my 1995 Yamaha Kodiak 400. It Starts fine. It Idols fine. I can even putt around in 1st gear. But when I give it throttle and go it will want to die. Sometimes I can drive it and it is fine, BUT most of the time when I go and shift from 1st to 2nd and try to give it gas, it chokes out or looses power and then dies. I thought maybe the fuel line was too long because the gas is gravity feed so I shortened it. Still acts up. Is there an Air/Fuel mixture adjustment on Carb? I know of the screw at the bottom of the carburator but isnt that just idol speed adjustment? Please, Any Suggestions?

Thank You

Oxidize_Black. I found a screw on the side but at the bottom of the Carb. There is a small black hose that comes off of it. It just goes down and is not connected to anything. The screw was closed or tighten all the way. When I opened it up fuel started running out. Is that an adjustment? Then there is the larger screw that you can turn with your fingers. That is an adjustment also? Thanks. My Son-In-Law gave me the quad and I have a Snow Plow attachment for it.

there is abit of troubleshooting in the manual, section 6 is all carb ...

I figured out a couple of things and it seems that I have fixed the issue. I had an air lock in the fuel line. Fuel was not flowing like it should so I loosened the hose at the On/Off switch and fuel then dumped into the the fuel filter. I also had the Intake vent that goes into the Air Filter box in wrong. It was pointing out the side next to my right leg. While driving I had a tendency to block that intake thus causing it to choke out. That Intake Vent is designed to go in the up position up under the front part of the Seat. There is a hole where that vent fits through. Wow, was that stupid of me. Oh well, its part of being a backyard mechanic.

Thanks

Hi, I am having issues with my TRX350D fuel pump.  It suddenly stopped running so I have replaced all the fuses and cleaned all the terminals.  I have fitted a new pump, fuel cut-off relay and rectifier.  Still nothing!!  The pump runs when attached to a battery.  The engine will start on the choke and the filter fills with fuel but it will  not rev and dies when the choke is closed. I have power to the relay but nothing at the pump black/white wire when cranking the engine.  Any ideas where to go from here would be very much appreciated!!

      Hey I have a 1997 big bear 350 4x4
I replaced the shifter shaft and the shift arm linkage and the rod when I installed them all I was unaware that you had to line the dot on the shifter shaft with the gap on the linkage arm gap put it all back  together and rode it I can't get it to shift in the right gears  I can move the shift cam by hand and goes in different gears but with the shifter shaft in it riding I can't put it in R or N
Anyone know how to line up the shifter shaft and the shift cam s

I WANTED TO UPGRADE THE CARBURATOR ON MY 1992 BIG BEAR 350, SO I ORDERED A NEW CARB FROM EBAY.  ACCORDING TO THE WRITE-UP IT WAS A GOOD FIT FOR BIG BEARS FROM 1988 TO 1996.  WHEN I REMOVED MY ORIGINAL CARB I NOTICED THAT IT WAS DIFFERENT FROM THE NEW CARB MY CARB HAD TWO THROTTLE  CABLES THE NEW CARB ONLY HAD ONE CABLE.  HOW CAN I MAKE THIS CARB WORK ON MY TWO CABLE THROTTLE?

1996 4x4 Timberwolf rearend width. Can someone with some knowledge of these machines answer this question for me please. Are all 4x4 timberwolves this narrow in the rearend? These tires are so close the right one actually rubs the muffler.  Thinking about seeing if there are any spacers out there for it. I need at least an inch more clearance.
