Hi, I am new to this forum and also new to “ATV”. I just bought 1998 Arctic Cat 454 4x4; according to last owner it wasn’t used for last 3 years. I tried to change the engine oil, noticed coolant water inside and mixed with oil. Now I changed the oil and filter and still can’t start. Any ideas? How fix this water and oil mix issue? Thanks

I have just recently purchased a 1998 artic cat bearcat 454 2x4! It had been sitting up for about 2 years and needed some major work! I replaced the cdi unit and regulator and freed up the brakes! Now I was breaking down the carb, cleaning the jets and all and noticed that one of the ears that hold the float in place has been broken off!! I opoxyed it back on, and everthing seems to be fine now! But as I was looking for carbs I can't find an aftermarket carb anywhere! A brand new one is from 400 to 500 bucks and I can't find a used one! Does anyone know a different brand or an aftermarket carb I can use on my 98 bearcat 454?? Thanx alot!!

I'm a newbie with ATV's and was given a '98 454 4X4 Artic Cat by my brother. It has been sitting for about a year without being run so I changed the oil, charged the battery and replaced the spark plug but I can't seem to get it to start. It only has 689 hr Where should I start the trouble shooting? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
