Right here goes I have a yamaha grizzly 125 2006 the starter just spins. I have replaced the one way clutch and a good second hand starter that I know works cause it came off my mates quad. When I press the button the big cog at the back spins to the left is this right way. Also what does the primary clutch do in the starting could this be the problem. How it happened I was out knocked it off and just would not start I've been months fiddling with it so please help????????

Let's just say there was a little fire on the old Griz and the carburetor didn't do too well. Is there an aftermarket carb on the market or do I have to go Yamaha to get this? Thanks in advance Shawn

i have a 2009 grizzly 700,replaced the fuel pump and filter,replaced the spark plug and checked the air filter for a mouse house! it runs then shuts down,wont stay running,does the fuel line need to be primed and air free to run properly or am i missing something obvious??????????????

Hello everyone, I have a 99 grizzly 600 and I am about to split the crankcase due to a leaking gasket. I have the motor pulled out of the quad and I need to split the crankcase but I can seem to figure out how to comes apart. Do I need to pull the clutch cover off and losen anything or do I just need to use a soft hammer and keep smacking it apart?

I have a 2002 grizzly 660. I just bought it last week. It had sat for about a year. I knew going in that I was going to have to spend some time in the carb. I took the carb apart and sprayed it with carb cleaner and blew it out with compressed air. I cleaned out the fuel tank, replaced the fuel line and new fuel filter. Filled with fresh fuel. Started it up and set the idle. I rode it for about 3 hours yesterday. Then it developed a miss. At idle it would go put put put miss put put put miss. If I didnt not add some choke then it would die. The miss wouldnt go away it would just idle it up fast enough for it not to die. It progressivly got worse. It also would have that same miss at slow speeds steady throttle. If you give it lots of throttle it runs great and the miss seems to go away. When it misses like that the exhaust makes a whistle sound also. Today I pulled the spark plug and replaced with a new one. It did not help. old plug looked good, but it was two heat ranges to hot from stock. Not for sure why that was in there. My first thoughts would be the pilot jet maybe. Pulled it out and its clean. Is it possible that some trash got in there with all new lines,filter,fuel and a clean tank. Thanks in advance guys, kinda stumped.

Has anyone bypassed the rev limiter button on the 550 Grizzly. Since I have put tracks on the quad, I need to run it at higher rpms in 4X4 in the deep snow. Is there any downside to bypassing the switch or even installing a 2nd bypass toggle switch?

I have a yamaha grizzly125 went out the other day and was running fine knocked it off and it won't restart the starter is just spinning so I replaced the one way clutch still no good if I turn the engine over manually the piston still doesn't go up and down but both sides of the crank are spinning does anyone have any idea help???

i have a 1998 grizzly 600 it had no spark and after replacing the pick up coil i got it to run but it is now misfiring and backfiring horribly and won't idle and is extremely hard to get running if done every thing the service manual has told me to do with no difference if any body has any advice it would be greatly appreciated

They both have almost similar weight but different size engines, how do you think fuel consumption would be in one vs the other. This is about fuel capacity rather than saving on gas, if the gas consumption is about the same ( not sure here), that 13.3 L on Honda really bothers me.What else ? Hi everyone how are you.I have a 2007 yamaha grizzly 700efi .One day out of nowhere my atv started to run really rough.turns over fine but i need to press the throttle for it to start and hold it here and there so the atv does not stall out.it does not stay idling.its really choppy at low revs and as i press the throttle it gets better almost normal in high revs.i have the original exhaust and i drilled out the baffle in it for better flow and i also installed a stealth exhaust.stealth exhaust is a extra exhaust and it acts like a silencer.i also noticed lots of black smoke coming out the exhaust. i had this set up for 3-4 years with out a problem till about a year ago. i tried lot of things like: new spark plugs,different spark plugs,new k&n filter,ignition coil,adjusted the valve clearance,swapped ecu,checked all fuses,took stealth exhaust off,drained old gas and put new gas in,and so far had no luck the atv is not showing any error codes.if anyone can help that would be great,thank you.

I have a set of Grizzly 660 plastics (front & rear fenders & gas tank cover) that's taking up space. They are green in color & right now, they are covered in Camo Clad 3M camo material. It might not look the best up close, but it does protect the plastics. If anyone is interested in them, PM me ... I'll let'em go cheap but be advised, shipping can be costly ($125 give or take)(I paid $125 for a set I bought from a guy a long time ago) ... can photo's if you want to your personal e-mail, but ONLY if you're really interested, since they are kinda difficult to get to right now. Hey Guys I've got an 05 Grizzly 660 it's got a jet kit and k&n air filter installed it also had a hmf exhaust but i took it out cause it was just to loud it runs great untill it's under heavy load when it's under heavy load it sputters like the limiter kicks in if I hammer on all the brakes and then push on the throttle till it's full out then it starts to sputter going up hill and in mud it does it in HI and in LOW gear what could be the issue thanks in advance for your help

I have a 99 Grizzly 600 that keeps blowing the 20 amp fuse, so I have no power to starter lights indicators. Anyone else have this problem?

my grizzly starter has been acting up. i'll start it up and let run. without doing anything to it the starter will kick in and keep running. if i turn it off and back on the starter kicks in without touching the starter button. any clues?

I have a grizzly that has a lower engine knock. Any pointers you guys can give me on tearing it apart to fix the problem? im guessing a connecting rod is knocking. Im going to take the head and cylinder off tomorrow to inspect the piston to conecting rod and see if thats my problem. im betting its the lower bearing or something. the manual says you have to remove the engine to replace the lower...is that right? any tips?? thanks for any and all help.
