The latest in the news is that "Three-wheeled all-terrain vehicles would be banned and four-wheelers intended for children wouldn't go faster than 15 mph, under rules suggested Thursday by the Consumer Product Safety Commission's staff"
If people would follow safety guidelines and ride with some common sense then these guidelines wouldn't have been proposed. There are too many ATV related acidents.
Add your coments on this but I'm also adding a topic in the Forums.
Just because the 3 wheelers are being banned u know as well as i do the people who ride them are (NOT) going to stop riding them!! I bet if the Consumer Product Safety Commission Staff tried to stop people from riding there 3 wheelers on there own land. The riders would keep on riding and would tell the Saftey Commission to F#*K OFF. I'm sure some ppl would stop riding but most of them will keep on enjoying there right to ride!
As far as the childrens quads go, parents need to buy the right size quad for there kids. And make there kids where there helment and have the parents watch over them while there riding. But if they make quads that just15 mph will they have the power to even pull a kid around?? I'd hate to see kids getting hurt because the quad would not have the power to climb a smallish hill so it rools back and ends up rolling over top of them!!
One of the things that I have experienced, is that Parents go and purchase an ATV that is too large for thier kids, hoping that they [the kids will grow into them], unfortunately, they [the kids], go out and ride these over powered and over weighted machines, like little hellions and go and get thereselves hurt or even worse!
Then the parent wants to shed thier own stupidity onto the dealership or manufacturer of the wheeler...if they wouldn't practice such stupidity, then thier kids would not of gotten hurt in the first place...its called parenting, lets practice some good parenting!
Don't just simply throw the keys to thier kids, and use the ATV's as a Babysitter. Use some common sense for Gods Sakes.
An ATV isn't a Pair of Shoes...People! To large of an ATV for to small of a kid, is inherantly dangerous for the well being of your child ~~~WAKE UP~~~
i agree but it is true that we need to be more responsible,i dont think anyone has the right to regulate what we do in our spare time and what we allow our kids to do regarding atv's.but the next time your in the trails and see someone doing what they shouldnt be doin....stop them or we wont have anywhere to ride....by the way thats a sweet bike
