2003 arcticcat 400 4x4 fis no fire

I could use some help one day my atv was running it idled for about 5 mins and i cut it off to check the oil then it wouldent start back turns out its not gettin fire i have check the cdi the coil and  all the fuses am i missing anything? Any help would be appreciated

Is it getting spark? sometimes the plug will go bad and have spark outside the engine, but won't fire under pressure.

How did you check the CDI? Mike is right, try with new plug first.

I replaced the plug and still no fire and i tested the cdi on an identical arcticcat my buddy has

Next step would be the coil. I attached the diagram, it is #10

I would also check #16, if you look at the diagram there is a sensor that sends a signal to the CDI to tell it to fire the spark plug.

Pull the connectors apart, check for corrosion. Clean with electric clean and grease with diaelectric grease before plugging back in.

It is possible the spark plug cap to be faulty. I would perform spark check without spark plug cap - directly from the HV wire.

OK. So, as Mike suggested, you must check the magneto. But you will need a multimeter. Here, in the attached file you will find the specs for the measurements.

And something else, check the 12 V power supply to the CDI. As you see in the wiring diagram, the orange/white wire going to the CDI should have +12V with the ignition ON.

Have you ever replaced the flywheel? If not your magnets may have let loose.. I have save machjne and just had same symptoms and 2 magnets came loose..pm me for cheap parts list if needed.

Good point, I forgot some year machines had issues with the magnets coming loose.

That would cause it not to send a signal to fire the plug.
