so I'm looking at these bikes- wondering if I could fix them up without busting my budget- he wants 1200 for all.  Anyone know the best way to find replacement plastics for older bikes?

I would be on my way already with $1000 in hand. The Honda fourtrax alone in decent shape would be worth $500.  That’s a lot of goodies to work on or part out and make good money on eBay but it would be over time.

yea thats what I was thinking- my only concern is that I would just run into too many problems on some of the bikes.

Wow Very nice.  Price range is really good for a bike like that with all the after market stuff.  Just be careful when you are buying.

Make sure it’s all on the up and up.  If they ask you to send them your email address so they can send you more pics etc do not do so.  There are scams out there just to get your email addres and obtain personal information.

Im not sure of the price range of bikes like that in your area but a bike like that here would be about $5000 K so I would see a red flag 🚩 but out near you that may be the value.

So I looked up that bike in your area and kbb has it at $4300 in good condition.  So if it’s in very good or better condition you have to figure $4800 and it has some after market parts.  So that’s a very good price this person is selling to for. Plus the owner is expecting a small deduction in price during negotiation prob no more then $200 at best maybe even $100 if you have the cash in hand.

That’s a nice looking bike.  I’m sure you will get there sooner then later.

I'm hoping so.  I have a buyer for my sportsman for $2500 so hopefully I'll have enough cash to invest in a good flip after that one is sold.

I would buy used off CL.  If you want new though, I have amazon prime so I would do Amazon- otherwise I dont know of any difference between them.

you can usually get them running used for $400-600

looking at this polaris 335 again..  https://roanoke.craigslist.org/snw/d/buchanan-1999-polaris-335-4x4/6814841462.html   The guy said he would give it for 950 with a plow attachment.  I'm going to be up his way this weekend and was thinking of at least going to look at it.  Nada says its worth 600-1900 depending on condition..  right now it needs a starter and battery...  (1900 would be like new cond which this thing is not, but it's looking great for its age..)

kbb says its worth 1400 trade in or 2200 retail, but you almost never get as much as kbb says they'er worth

I'm still interested in the 570 in NC, but the price is just out of my range and I doubt I can get there fast enough (this weekend is the soonest I could look at anything)

I'll try that- but he sounded pretty firm.  I'm hoping I can talk him down If I can come up with other problems with the bike...  looks like the front end might be out of alignment- maybe from a wreck.  dont know till you get there heh

thanks!

Absolutely! Go through the bike and dont look excited. And explain how much money in parts and labor you have to put into the bike to what I like to say “get it back to good”  is.   Show him the cash and say look I’m here to buy.  He will come back at $900.

Definitely a scam

the real test is whether they will actually meet you face to face.

yup- what I try to do- as soon as you act interested, they know they have you where you wont walk away..  Thats another thing- its hard to walk away from a deal-even if it isn't a deal.  Have done it though.

there was a 90s kodiak 400 4x4 that the guy wanted $500 from it and I went out and looked at it- just too much that he didnt know (didnt know what was wrong with it, he had parts off of it and 'didnt know where they were')...just a mess.  I walked away

That’s great.  Walk away but hold on to that phone number. You ever k ow when you will come across another Kodak and that guy may still have his.

OK, so I'm a boxing fan...anyone watch last night's fight between Manny Pacquiao & Ricky Hatton?

The PacMan is just too fast and too accurate. Floyd Mayweather just announced yesterday that he's coming out of retirement to fight Marquez in July. Maybe we'll get a December fight between Pretty Boy and the PacMan?
So, Manny has convincingly beaten up DeLaHoya (just announced his retirement from boxing) and now Hatton...

      Hello
      Just bought a used 2014 outlaw 90.
I noticed at the top of the front shocks there is 2 mounting holes for the shocks. By the markings the shocks used to be mounted in the inner holes now the shocks are mounted using the outer holes. Googling I can't find the reason for these two holes.
2nd question is about the rear suspension
When I push the suspension down it is very slow at raising back up. Should it be slow? Is it a safety thing for kids so it doesn't bounce them off. The spring adjustment is on the second lob from softest. Has painted arrows so I'm guessing it's from factory.
Has anyone touched one of these machines and could tell me if this is normal?
      Thanks

      Hey, how's it going?
I'm a new member looking to get some advice before I go to check out a '14 Sportsman 800.  I wanted to get input from you guys that have experience with Polaris machines. I've been riding my whole life, dirt bikes and atvs... Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, but never Polaris.  I'm looking for advice on what I should be looking for, any common issues, really any general advice.  I couldn't find many reviews of the Sportsman 800 online, so and general reviews on quality/reliability would be great too.
A little info on the machine.
      -2014 800 EFI
      -640 miles, 77hrs.
      -Winch
      -Asking price is $5500
      Couple add ons: (nothing major)
      -Aftermarket wheels with Maxxis tires
      -Front and rear brush bumpers
      -LED lights
Probably going to see it in the next couple days. I'll make sure to check out all the basics... Fluids, front end, tires, suspension etc.  Plus anything else you guys recommend.
Thanks for any advice on advance!
