After months of sitting on a silent and cold beast in the garage, cleaning it, pampering it and just staring at it.:frown: I finally get to take the toys out! I have today and tomorrow off of work including the weekend.:partyc::party2: I'm loading the truck up today to head to Rabbit Valley.:drivingc: This place is commonly know to Colordo riders as the new Moab. Utah gets way to crowded and Rabbit Valley is 80 miles closer. So, my question for all my :cheers2c::sifonec:ESE LOCO riders is, when and where will be your first trip this year be?

If you have been riding all year...SCREW YOU!:aargh:

I have to drive about 90 minutes to ride and just found out our favorite place is closed:

As of Monday March 17, 2008, WoolysOffRoad is closed until environmental repairs can be made to our park. Once we have determined how to correctly repair our issues we will re-open the park. Our hopes are to be open in a few weeks.

I am getting my bike going this weekend. I will find somewhere to ride very soon. I can't wait.

Wooly's is closed? I never did get to ride there while I've lived here...thought about it a few times....

Scott: Do you or have you ever raced the Mid-South Harescramble Series?? Sometimes some of the promoters will let people ride there land for practice...middle tennessee is notorius for having no places to ride....

I can't wait to get back to NY where we can pull the quads out, get geared up and hit the trails up through the back yard :)

I live in the lower catskills in NY and out my back door is about 42 sq miles of woods :partyc: so i ride often:sifonec:

However my first trip will be either to the adirondack mountains to ride or down to the Hatfield McCoy trail system in WV in about a month. With over 500 miles of trails i think it will be Hatfield McCoy for first trip:autoc:

I have never raced or even been to a harescramble. I have wanted to go. I am pretty new to riding also. I didn't get into it but about 5yrs ago. I have just gotten enough rides so my whole family can go. Wooly's it really a great place though. Something for everyone and the people that own and run it are very nice.

We are lucky that we live out in the sticks and between about 5 different farmers that lets us ride on their property we have access to about 8-10 thousand acreas but it gets old riding the same old dirt and gravel turnroads....but it is nice not having to load up just to go get some seat time. During the winter I mostly ride my Grizzly and once the temps get 50 degrees and above I ride my sport quads.

Hey Sc0tt.....does Coal Creek and Windrock require sparkies and do they have any noise requirements or issues?

Racegun I don't believe they do. I just read that Coal Creek has taken back the day to day running of the area. I don't know what or how they will police such things. I doubt the noise restriction but I don't know about the sparkie. It is a heavily wooded area.

Just think how fast you would ride with a twister chasing you down!

Been there and done that one time and never want to do it again.....got caught on a motorcycle with one out in the middle of no where.....wasn't even a ditch to get into....rode for a couple of miles in first gear with both feet dragging the ground just to keep the bike up.

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

I am in the process of puting it back together after replacing the DPS gearbox.
The manual I have states that it will need to be flashed by a dealer. Is this still true?
Also , I have a mystery bolt That I cannot remember where it goes. M6x 70 or so.  Hex head with a flat washer.I will try to attach a pic.
Pic is no go for now....Cox issue I will try again later
      TIA

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!
