Recommended brands for u-joints and ball joints?

Recommended Posts

Good topic. For atvs I think it depends on if its a sport or utility quad but my feeling is that OE typically lasts a while and if I can replace with OE I will, otherwise I'll look for brands that have good reviews. For ball joints, it seems there are lots of sellers but I don't think they all make them as opposed to just rebrand chinese parts. I could be wrong though and would check quadboss, superatv, kimpex for example.

Purchased a 2017 Sportsman 450 HO in Sept, 2017. Rode it till its first oil change came due. Winterized it, trickle charge on it. Turned key in April 2018 and its dead. No click. Dead. Onboard voltmeter read 11.7 V. Replaced battery. Turned key. Nothing. Turns out the starter solenoid was bad. In 2months of use. and four months of storage. Warranty expired at 6 mos. Onboard voltmeter read 11.7 V on the new battery too. So, Polaris  supplies an inaccurate voltmeter and poor quality solenoids. Honda here I come.

Hi I have a 2002 quad master 500 that will start but won’t just idle.  It also seems to have a leak if some kind underneath.  I’m not that good with these since I’m not a mechanic and I’m trying to sell it, so I want it to be running ok prior.  Would you know what I can do to at least get it running ok to sell and what it could be leaking.  Please help!

My front dif is leaking oil pretty bad around the yoke. I completely pulled the whole dif from my bike and now stuck trying to get the yoke unbolted from the dif body. There's a large nut in the center of the yoke and I've tried using impact wrench and not budging. The nut and bolt kind of looks like it has a crimp spot made to keep it from backing off the bolt I guess. Does that sound right? What's the easiest way to remove it? Just soak with some type of lube and try again with the impact?
