Quick ATV Ride Today Yamaha Grizzly & Kodiak

Recommended Posts

Got my Yamaha Grizzly buttoned up finally and went for a quick 2 hour ride in the power lines with my neighbor, who has a Yamaha Kodiak. We have access from his yard, which is nice. Was a beautiful day today to get out and will try to go more often. Ran into two other quad riders with a sportsman and I think grizzly. Also ran into a dirt bike rider. 😎

Nice, I brought mine home for repairs this weekend.  A-arm guards are on order.  The stick seems to have held all the grease in. :-)

We had a chance for a quick ride on Friday at the local state trail before the rain came in.

I have a 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 400 Automatic. It has an oil leak inside clutch cover. The middle gear has two oil seals, the front seal is leaking engine oil into clutch area. How do you change the leaking seal?

      Hello All,
I have multiple Yamaha Timberwolfs, and I'm rebuilding a 92. I would like to replace the Ball Joints on the control arms. Does anyone know where I can purchase them? I don't want to purchase entire control arm. Ebay only has upper ball joints (Funny I don't see Upper Ball Joints, I have struts) and Cheap Cycle Parts, Partzilla and others don't even show the part number for the lower ball joint. There has to be something out there, these are just pressed in ball joints with castle nut and cotter pin.
Please help cross reference. I have another Timberwolf I want to rebuild.

Disconnected the plow yesterday on my 2004 Yamaha Grizzly 660 and am getting ready to do some riding yesterday and the battery went weak, Starter cranked a few times but week. Put my trickle charger on that I bought and went to the garage today to start it up, but the starter is just spinning and not engaging. The solenoid is clicking. The pull start sucks and is hard to pull (never use it and need to look into that). Quick video of the starter spinning. Could it be the starter or  the starter clutch one-way bearing? I guess I need to take the cover off to see what's going on.

Just got a new to me, 99 Kodiak w/ plow and an extra set of tires for dirt cheap. I'm curious where you guys purchase your parts for your older ATV's? Google is great to find parts, but I'm hoping you guys have some stores, online, that you prefer on a recommendation basis. I've already purchased my tune-up items, but the brakes need some work and I'll likely end up having to replace the steering stem bearing, front CV axles and a few other things down the road.

      Hi,
Have a 2005 grizzly 660. Just recently started backfiring and showing incorrect speed. Lifted seat and messed with wire going to starter relay, it stops for a bit but seems to come back.
I ended up pulling all the pins out of the connector for the relay and added new pin/connectors for all 4 wires. fixed it for a little bit but came back shortly after. This was a new starter relay i installed a few months ago. Anyone know if a bad starter relay would do this?
