newb with some questions

Recommended Posts

hi, i've got an 85 ATC 110, its been sitting in my friends grandfathers house since 87, the thing is mint except it needs new tires and some carb work. Should i rebuild the carb or buy a new one (its leaking round the petcock and could use a new float). and secondly are there any engine upgrades, i.e. a 185 swap, as i could get one cheap, thanks and great site by the way

Welcome Triker!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the 110....Almost Bullet Proof Machines....

Tires are Cheap enough and you can get a rebuild kit Cheap as well...I would suggest you Change the oil and Filter while you are at it.

On the upgraded 185......I dont think it will fit....the 110 is more Horizontal than that of the 200m or the 185....However,,,,,the ATC125 should work Perfectly and give you Electric Start to boot....Just an option.....Also,,,,The choice of most swaps these days is the Chinese motors....Lifans and such....Cheap!!!!!

Good luck....

Id like to start by saying hi to everyone...this is my first time posting. Iregistered here quite sometime ago, but never used the site. second, congratulations on the 110!theyre solid bikes, and hard to find in good shape. anyways, dotn buy a new carb rebuild kits are cheap and easy to install. it really only consists of cleaning up the carb, and replacing a few small parts. and theyre right...tires arent too expensive.for that bike, its worth it! I have a 110 with a ton of work done to it. Ill post pics as soon as I can...

I would just do a big bore kit on the 110 instead of a motor swap. You'll have the awesome low gears that came with the 110 and big bore power and its much less of a headache than any motor swap. We just did a 1mm over on my buddies 110 which is the last step in overbore pistons. You might want to start with the .25 or .5 mm over so you can step up to the .75 and then the 1mm later I tried to talk my buddy into doing this but his motto has always been go big or go home LOL I hope he doesn't ride it to hard or he'll be sorry once he's running low on compression.

What Headache??? The Any Honda 70,90,110,125 Bolts right in with No Modifications. The 125 is a nice Mod as it has the Elec. Start....I have Done a few of these Conversions in my Time and I have to say my Favorite one was a 110 in a ATC70.....When I was a Kid that was my Hill Shooter Trike....LMAO!!!

Also,,,,All the Aftermarket Motors that are in all the Pit Bikes..They also Bolt Right up....Honda Mounts.....And seem to be the Choice of anyone that is Doing ATC70's right now and for the last 5 yrs....

GIT IT RAGGGG!!!!

picked up this pos bike for $80 not running.  took it home, cleaned the carb and bypassed the fuse-  ran great (other than the rev limiter- those things are so stupid)  Then one day out of the blue it starts flooding on cold startup and wont idle cold, but idles to fast warm.  (too fast being about half throttle speed heh).  I tried a new carb ($10) and new sp.  new carb wouldnt make it run except on choke and then it was gushing white smoke.  I had better things to do with my time so I parked it in a shed and used it for a work bench for a while...  this last weekend, I wanted to take it along with the sportman to a mens retreat to let the younger boys have some fun on it--  took about 30mins to pull all the crap I had accumulated on it and then rolled it down to my workshop, put the old carb back on after adjusting the needle clip up two notches (leaner) and threw it back on the bike.  Will turn over, but no fire.  I didnt have time to check sp that day but just wanted some incite on what could be wrong with this quad (if it even qualifies as being called that)

      Hi, Guys.
Sorry for my English, I live in Ukrane, Kharkiv.
I have Can Am Renegede 800, 2007, g1, mileage is 430 hours. Happened issue with chain in first cylinder. Mechanic opened engine and found problems with piston, rings, cylinder, etc. So engine need full rebuild.
I found rebuild kit on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/06-10-Can-Am-Outlander-800-800R-Stock-Cylinder-Crank-Complete-Engine-Rebuild-Kit/253868930525?fits=Make%3ACan-Am&hash=item3b1bc475dd:g:NdMAAOSwew5a-bY9
Price is really good. For example original crankshaft costs $929.99. Here full kit costs $999. This kit made by BP Racing ATV Company. Here is their website https://bpracingatv.com/
But I can’t find reviews to their products. My mechanics didn’t used parts from BP Racing ATV before. And their parts not very popular in Ukraine. I’m afraid that I will spent money for this kit + delivery + pay to mechanic for a work and will need new engine rebuild after 100 hours.
What is the quality of parts from BP Racing ATV?
Is it have sence to buy this kit, or pay more and buy original parts?
Maybe someone used this kits for rebuild engine. And have expirence of using this parts. What will your mind about quality of parts from BP Racing?
      Thanks for your answers.

Hello all.  I have just stripped down the carb on my YFM225 as it is not running right.
I put it in the ultrasonic cleaner for half an hour and it has done a good job.
Nice clean jets but when I go full throttle it backfires, and there is a lack of power.
It also does not seem to take fuel in properly - it comes out the petcock ok so it is running freely enough, but it is not drawing into the carb.
If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful.

Hi all, new to the forum, looking forward to getting some help/advice on maintaining an 18 yr old atv!  So my King Quad 300, recently started running really rough (otherwise ok til this point) at anything more than idle.  After started, choke on/off, doesn't seem to matter, it shutters (Not sure how else to explain it) really bad when given throttle.  I can let the engine run for several minutes, but this never improves.
Fuel pump checks out ok, and I don't see any gas in the fuel pump vacuum line.  I am a novice on a carburetor, but I need to see what's going on, so after taking it apart, I have a question about this plastic part with an o-ring that is above the jet needle.  Appears as if someone rebuilt this carb, because it is extremely clean...so I am wondering if this plastic part looks to be typical for this carb...or not.  Thanks in advance for the help!

Im looking for a atv fertilizer spreader that will spread bagged manure like Walmart sales. Does anyone have any recommendations or what have some of you used that will work with the bagged manure/fertilizer.

AL righty I did some trading around this weekend and ended up picking up a few 4 wheelers for cheap. I ended up with this one for $500 in it total and well the guy told me it dropped a valve. I haven't really messed with it at all. But this weekend I am going to try and start working on it some to get it running before winter time frame. So what I am asking is a couple of questions.
      1. First off where do I start I tried pulling the pull cord and could not get it to move at all.
      2. I need to get a service manual for this 4 wheeler where can I get it downloaded for free?
      3. what do I need to look for and how do I go about this really. I do have experience with 4 wheelers but this one is a little different to me than others because its a V2 and I have no clue where to start internal on the engines. Most of my experience is on the outside portion of troubleshooting on theses wheelers.
Please no smart butt answers as i am new to here but just wanted opinions on where to start. Please and thanks wink:

My boot on the drive shaft came off this weekend. When I tried to put it back on it appeared to be about 2" too large. Any explanations????
Also when the boot cam off, there was oil in the boot. Is this normal???
      Thanks for your help.

Anybody know the axle nut size on a '11 Grizz 700?
Also, could use a link to maybe a youtube video or a how to thread explaining how to change out the lower front boot.

I may be faced with buying a new ignitor for my '04 Prairie 700. I'm considering going the aftermarket route since they offer performance enhancements along with being a fraction in cost compared to a factory replacement.
Guess that leads to my question, which manufacturers produce the best part? I see glowing reviews for Dynatek but there are also a few complaints about issues out of the box. A good thing, it seems Dynatek is willing to work with the customers on resolving problems.
If anyone here has experience with them or others, good or bad I'd like to hear it.
