Could be rings, valves, or a head gasket. It is a bit odd that you would be burning oil in a quad that is that new. Have you been doing services regularly? If so, and it is still under warranty, I would let Yamaha deal with it.

i would first check oil level

you need to run quad for a 3 minutes and let sit for 2 minutes before checking stick

excsessive on off throttle use can cause fuel to run through rings and elevating level if so replace oil

I need to figure out how to clean/fix or replace my neutral switch assembly On my 2008 Yamaha big bear 400 as generally the neutral light doesn’t come on when it is in neutral. To get it to come on I have to wiggle the foot shifter and hold it in just the right spot.
I have googled it and can’t find much on the 400’s. I can’t find a service manual online and the parts manual is super vague.
I think it is in the right side engine cover area, but not certain.
Any help would be great. thanks

Have a 08 raptor brought to me a couple months ago. Got it on a trade for house remodel. Bike has around 30 hours. No that's not a typo thirty verifiable hours. The main Yamaha tech has put hands on this bike. Always Been reallyhard to start. If it does it runs really good. That's the kicker...IF! It started out intermittent now it's no spark at all. Everything ignition related is brand new. It all checks out good but still won't do it. Please help

Went on a great ride on Sunday from the M-33 trail head to the Lupton trailhead in the Huron National Forest.

More videos from the ride to be uploaded to the channel soon.

Well I will be Off the Trails for awhile...who will be riding ??
I said awhile ago that we would be done for awhile, and we made it back out,but now I know we are off for at least two weekends,Wife is on Call.
and I might send mine out for some due repairs, that I do not want to do because of the timing, and that I have not done them before.
I need new brakes, front and rear!
      and A Chain and Gears.
Deer Season is Nov.15th thru Nov.29th so no riding during that.
And we need to clean the Garages to get the daily drivers out of the snow, and cold weather.
So I hope that others step up and get in some riding while we are down.
