1986 Honda ATC 250r Estimated value?

Recommended Posts

I picked up a new baby last Saturday and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Its an '86 atc250r with a title. I'm the 4th owner of it and it only has one rebuild (stock), fmf pipe, dg silencer, and k&n filter. Wondering how much it should be worth? I'll tell the price after a few replies :cute:

Depending on whether the buyer or seller was more motivated that day, that R would change hands for between $900-$1100 here in the Pacific Northwest. As a trike nut, I keep my eye on these and it's about a thousand dollar bike anywhere you go these days.

Anyways the quad has some problems and im tryna figure out what to focus on first. So the U joints i think are shot. The bike starts first try every time ussually have to give it a lil gas with the throttle and revs right up, idles fine but its running REALLY rich 3 starts and my brand new plug was pitch black

      Bike is L model

      Hello all!
A friend of mine has this particular 4 wheeler. It sat in the garage for about a year, so I redid the carb, cleaned the tank and installed a new petcock. So far, it cranks right away whether its button started or pull started. So I have a couple of questions concerning the carb and air filter.
      1. Is this a cvk32 250 or 350 carb? As the air fuel ratio adjustment is different according to a cvk document I read. What's your adjustment setting? 2 whole turns and a 1/8 or 2 whole turns and a 1/2? Comparing the old setting on the carb to the new setting (and where the needle sits now), makes me think it was way off before.
      2. The Air filter cover, gasket, air filter and plate element are all missing. So I was thinking of removing the hose that goes to the air box and put one of those K&N style looking filters and be done with it. So my question is.. will I have to readjust Air Fuel screw or just adjust Idle?
It's just going to be driven around the neighborhood.
Thanks in advance for any info or help. Y'all stay safe out there!

I purchased a quad with engine problems. The previous owner had pulled the motor and pulled the valve cover but decided to stop. I have done Arctic Cat top ends before but have never worked on the bottom end so any advise would be appreciated. What I have found so far is the connecting rod bearing is completely gone and some scoring on the jug walls. What i'm wondering is if anybody here has worked on these and if so did you replace all the bearings or just the ones that were for sure bad? Also is the 2006 Suzuki King Quad 700 motor exactly the same? It seems Suzuki parts are a lot cheaper to buy.
