Recommended Posts

I have a 1995 Sportsman 300l. The cooling fan starts running as soon as you turn the ignition switch on and does will not shut off. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello!

I have a 1996 400L with the exact same issue. But I am having a tough time finding the relay, can anyone steer me to its location? How did you issue come out?

Thanks

Hey fellas...I'm trying to install the rear left axle..there's  a bolt running through the end of the axle that goes in the hole where you slide the axle in...I'm having a hard time getting the bolt started on the threads..I was hoping to start it with my fingers and than finish it with an open ended wrench...its very hard to do because it's such a tight spot..has anyone ever done this job before ? Any help would really be appreciated..thanks Ed

I would say for comparison to the common man that I am pretty knowledgeable about them. its been my passion about most of my life. I love talking about quads and bikes so if anyone out there would like to talk with me about mechanical subjects or about person experiences while riding or just shoot the breeze please feel free to chat with me. I am going crazy trying to figure this one out. Recently snorkeled 700efi is overheating but I am inclined to think that the problem is not related to the snorkeling. My fan is no longer coming on. I checked the fuse and also the diode marked fan in the fuse box and found both to be OK. I checked the fan to make sure that it is working under normal conditions so I powered it directly from a battery and it works fine. I checked the continuity of the sensor and it works as well. Hooking a positive from an outside battery source to it. Once the temp got high enough the fan came on. I downloaded the wiring diagram from the forum and it indicates a diode in-line with the ground. Does anyone have experience with this?

Went for a ride today with some new tires and my bike is pretty dirty. I don't have a high temp light, but when I turn my key to on, my fan runs even with the engine off. What can cause this?
