Recommended Posts

I have a 1 suzuki lt250 quadrunner with no spark. I can't find the proper electrical diagram for it. The CDi as 6 wires comming out of it. orange, green an black/? going to stator . Comming out from engine (Stator) 3 yellow ( alternator ) 1 orange, 1 green, and 1 black/?. Witch wire is or are pick-up coil? impulse generator? What should be the resistance of them? ignition coil test good !

i did have that manual. I don't know if it because my LT 250 was made in 1984, but none of the electrical diagram fit the number of wire and color of wire on the CDI and the stator. I have checked with Suzuki and i have the proper CDI and Stator for this ATV. CDI parts number is= F8T08671. any help to determine witch wire or wires are pick-up coil and impulse generator will be appreciated! There is only 6 wires comming out of the Stator and the 3 yellows are for the charging circuit. 1 green, 1 orange and 1 black are left for the ignition

thanks

It probably a 1985 bought at the end of 1984. I found in the suzuki parts catalog, that they have used 3 different stator fot the lt250. And the one the used on mine is not showed in the 1985 repair manual. Any info on that 6 wires stator will be appreciated. I already know that the 3 yellows are the altenator, still the orage, green and black to know use and resistance!

Thanks

I have a 2005 Suzuki Vinson 500cc automatic 4X4. I can only shift it in to park & High gear, it will not go in low or reverse, what's the issue & the fix?

I made my intro about a QuadRunner I was working on and found a multitude of problems. Most I fixed, but I'm thinking that I'll be making more trips to see the 90' LT-250/4WD. Age and needing regular attention is the reason. The owner, NOT being mechanically inclined, adds into the equation.
So, I deliver it and was offered, as payment, a 95' LT-250/4WD, with paper. It didn't run and had been sitting outside for last 12+ months. It was (basically) all there. This happened Saturday and this "Barn Find" came home to live out it's final years (I suspect).

Today I finally found time to look at her. Not a pretty sight. Rough life, many hrs....... MANY! Only 2399mi, but the speedo is disco'd. I just want to know if this will be worth pursuing. First things first, a really good cleaning. I hate working on dirty vehicles.

The battery actually took and held a charge! The carb was pulled, cleaned and the tank drained. Found a broken orange wire, dangling loose, near the carb. It was hot when the key was on and ended up connecting to a 10A fuse block. Well, I wonder why it didn't run???? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Carb back on, fresh non-eth fuel, had to remove the air filter for this test (needs replacement), sprayed a little ether..... hit the starter, fired and died. Third time's a charm, she runs. I'll be going thru things as I can and questions will follow, in this thread.

Hey Frank I posted some pictures of my stator from my Raptor660r and I need some help, here are some pics of the numbers I got from the stator the 494 is ok,that's from the white/red & white/green wires but from the white to white I was getting no reading and from the blue and red wires also no reading, so it's most likely done right?

Hello, well back to where I was last year with this carb. Took my 250 to the mountains for the first time this year and blue smoke, too much gas again. I can't believe that this carb gives me this much trouble. Seems like the choke is stuck but the cable moves freely. Anyone else ever experience this issue? Do you think a new choke cable would maybe resolve this?http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/images/smilies/arghh.gif
OK it was the choke. Put on all new cable and plunger and she is running 100% again. So now the question is, is the carb getting worn out where the plunger needle goes in the small hole and when I use the choke the needle end doesn't get lined back up with the hole?? We'll see how it runs and now that I know what the issue is I can always pull the choke plunger out and reinstall if I start having this issue again.
