1998 Suzuki KQ300 - Owners Manual

Recommended Posts

I need a user manual for a 98 King Quad 300 4x4, is there anyway to download one from manufacturer or online somewhere? Not a service manual though that would help another matter. Is the Clymer guide good and is it in digital format? All help appreciated for this newbie with a used 4 wheeler.

Does that cover the 300, it says 280? Im new and unfamiliar with ATVs so wanted an owners manual to familiarize myself with parts location etc...

OK thanks, kind f figured that,. I do have a few problems with this machine so will pick your brain if you dont mind. I charged the battery full (according to charger) last night and the starter just clicks like on a car that has a low battery, Im guessing the battery is junk and the other problem is it only runs with the choke on full, if I lower it, it dies, I did work on cars and am good with electrical so what do you think?

i would sand the connections bare again at the solenoid and cables, even running to the starter. it may end up the same thing if your battery is no good, but be right when you replace it. the carb i would run some seafoam through the tank and that might eliminate tearing the carb apart to clean it ...

It appears that the Service Manual thread at top of forum is dead as all the links no longer work.  I'm actually looking for service manual for a 2000 KVF300 Prairie that I just picked up.  Does anybody have link to one that they can share, or know where I can find one?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Here's a web site for those of you who might need a manual on your quad. Not all are listed but some are. Its pretty cheap too. You can download it.http://www.shopmanualdownloads.com/results.php?style=A.T.V.

      My non-running '08 450 hour 1450 mile 450 grizzly investment paid off! I paid a buck per cc...yup, $450.
It smoked mosquito-fogger bad, was missing starter solenoid, a fuse, racks and a few small plastics, needed a rear ujoint, a brake caliper and lever. Popped in the fuse, plugged in starter solenoid and a carb clean out came next.  After an oil change, seafoam treatment, and reseating rings by very hard and hot riding towing a 5' disc for two hours, it completely stopped it's bad habit! Changed oil and filter again (went synthetic), and have put a hundred hours of trail-busting and mountain climbing, everything is working perfectly, and not using any oil.

My current task is to repair the winch, if possible. It was crammed jam-packed full of dust, rust, and mud.
I disassembled it, cleaned it completely, found nothing overtly appearing broken, but it feels like the knob for freewheel/engage is "sticky".
I mean, REALLY sticky-the Mitsubishoid rhombus-triad looking mechanism appears to not release, unless I pull or tap on it.
I've not yet reassembled it, want to find out if the disengage action is normally this "sticky".

Anyone have experience with this? How about a schematic, or manual?
