Hello I just got a 1984 Honda big red 200 three wheeler from a guy and it hasn't been run in about two years. I got it started and rode it around for a minute. I need to put new gas in it wich I'm sure will help. But when riding it, it smokes pretty bad and also only stays running with the choke on. It'll run with the choke off but I gotta feather the gas to keep it going. I'm going to clean out the carb but besides that any pointers for a first time three wheeler owner would be help ful. I've rode them my whole life just finally own one now.

Thanks in advance for any information

the carbs are really easy to work on, clean it out good, fresh gas and run a few tanks with sea foam in it. you will need rings too. clean the tank out really good too. pretty basic bikes to work on. im in the process of rebuilding 2 myself ... you have the big red 200es ?

Hello, yea they don't look to hard. Okay, when you say foam you mean see foam? How much do you recommend. And that's what I figured was piston and rings.Wheres the best place to get parts for theses at? I traded a guy on craigslist a skil saw for it. All I know is that it's a 200 I'm not sure if that is a 200 e's unless that stans for electric start then yes I have electric start

i think 84 big reds have electric start, shaft drive, high/low/reverse ... check the vin tag at the gas tank front and where the handle bars slide in. sea foam is the product name and i would 2 times the recommended dose ... i would shop online for the best price, wesco pistons and rings are good ...

      Couple of quick points:
      1. the Odyssey, or FL350R. This was 30 years ahead of it's time.  Fast as greased owl crap, reliable, stupid fun.  Never took off.  Fast forward to the RAZR which was just replicating the FL350R.  What would Honda have done with it if it took off in '85?
      2. Everything about the ATC.  Reliable, good power for small displacement, easy to work on, simple front to back, still running 30 years later.  My son's 185s is 36 years old and outran a 400 Big Bear the other day until it ran out of gearing and the Big Bear caught it around 50 mph.  I can dig a 110 out of the weeds and as long as it has a little compression, I'll make it run in 2 days for about $20.  Can't do that with a Yamaha 225.
3, 1981 250R.  What happens if you stick a CR250 2 stroke in a trike?  Yeah, a death machine.  Then by '85 the 250R had a 6 speed and would do 70 from the factory.  Death Machine +2.  The 250R gave birth to the trike racing circuit.
      4. The ATC 70.  Small, quiet and reliable.  Just never took off.  Gave birth to the entire small displacement chinese quad market.
      5. 82 200ES - first Big Red.  The BR single handedly created the UTV market as we see it today in the Ranger, Mule, etc.
      6. The ENTIRE chinese quad market in front of us today came from expired Honda patents from the 80's.
      7. 300 fourtrax.  By far the most coveted 4x4 in the market right now, absolutely indestructible.  Pick one up a couple of years old, stick massive wheels and tires on it, and you have a mud machine.  Kinda like the Polaris or Can Am...but reliable.  And cheap.
To be fair, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawa, all picked their game up along the way and make good ATV's.  I'll leave the Polaris/CanAm discussion for another day.  While Polaris gave birth to the automatic, the reliability issues of both still exist today.  While great ATV's, I don't consider them any more than specialty machines.

      FIGHT ME.
      or debate...whichever is easier.

My husband and I work hard for what we have. We had our new 2016 ATV in a storage unit, as we are currently living in an apartment. Our unit was broken into, along with 94 additional units. However our 4 wheeler was the only item stolen from the entire storage facility!!! Along with this, I am an expecting mother and this is definitely a financial burden we do not need. A police report was filed, but of course there are no leads and nothing seems to be in “the works” to find our vehicle.
      Please help us!!

Looking for anybody who can point me towards a free service manual for 1998 Big Bear 350. I found the sticky thread but all the links, from 2012, no longer work. If anybody has one please let me know. Thanks

My ATV started making a rubbing and clunking noise. I took the skid plates off and found that the front u-joint on the shaft that connects the front axle to the transfer case is toast. My manual does not reference this repair. Looking for instructions.

Somehow I lost all of my spark on my 350Big Bear, its a 1990. It ran well for maybe 3 days! Thought it was the carb. Cleaned it 4 times. It was losing power at midrange. Got worse and worse. Finally nothing!
Are these good coils? I was thinking I could swap?

Ok new to group and new to quads. I picked up a 88 Big Bear for next to nothing but it has issues. The entire high low revers shifter has been removed. All I have is a bar attached to the linkage. I can shift into all three but I would like to replace or get suggestions. I have looked around but there is limited info or pictures on what I would need to buy or where it even mounts. Any pics of what where and how it works would be great. Or direct me to correct thread.
      Thanks

Anyone know of a good repair besides replacement for the ever cracking Big Bear 350 intakes. Replaced with a Zoom Zoom about two operational hours ago and the new one is cracked.
