  1. I picked up this ranger cheap because the AWD wasn't working. I checked it out and had 12.5 volts at the diff if I unhook the ground from the harness and run a straight ground from the frame it engages. What could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated!

  2. Finally got time to get back on the Ranger! I checked the ground (earth) wire back to the speedo everything is good. Thanks for all the advice!

  5. That's what I was thinking but I got 12.5 volts at the wiring harness at the hot and ground side! When I hook the ground to the diff from the frame AWD engages but wont disengage when I turn the switch off it will disengage if I have the switch off and put it in reverse. Thanks for the input this is driving me crazy!

  6. Looks like you may have answered your own question. Must be a break in the ground circuit somewhere.
