  1. WOW sounds like Greenfield Motor sports where i live, their not to smart for being certified people!
  2. if u can put a heat shield of some sort between the engine and your tank to keep the gas cool.
  3. well i had the throttle cable on the thumb throttle turned most of the way in so i backed it out and got it to idle by its self now but its still has a rough idle. and when you rev it slowly it wont rev smooth it hesitates as in its cutting out or being choked out a little. about mid throttle on up its just fine though. im thinking maybe when i drilled out the pilot jet to clean it, i made the jet hole size bigger but i dont know for sure. and i adjusted the pilot jet screw and it made a little diff but did not quite fix the problem. ohyea im now running aether a .30 or .40 over sized piston would this make a diff??
  4. the fuel bowl line is clear/clean its not clogged. and thanks ill try adjusting the pilot screw and see what happens. if that pilot screw dont help do you know where to look next? thanks
  5. well i FINALLY got my quad back BUT........ theres still a problem... it will start and run and rev but it's acting like its being choked, ive cleaned ALL of the carbraters gas and air passages/ports and i cleaned the old air filter but it did not help. it wont idle unless you are giving it some throttle and then it's semi smooth idle when it dose idle. i drilled the pilot jet out because it was very clogged but i did not see much if any brass shavings come out so i dont see that being a problem. as far as the main jet im not sure if its right on where it needs to be set, when i took it out to clean it, i had moved the adjusting nut on the main jet. i put the main jet back in the way tight and it stops, then i tightened the nut up until it's tight so i dont know if thats where it needs to be. THANKS AGAIN JEREMY

  7. well the compression release on the cam shaft is rebuildable so im having it rebuilt because my cam shaft is fine rather then that. and LOL im thanking about it D.D thanks again jeremy
  8. well your right D.D it was indeed the compression release on the cam shaft they said it's not rebuild able because it has been spun. so im going to get a new cam shaft and FINALLY be able to ride the damn thing! thanks for your help though.
  9. thanks again D.D it's sad there a business and they do shity work like this! they always call and ask before they do anything to fix it so ill know whats going on, and im going to go there monday and check out what there saying and go from there. the place is........... Greenfield motor sports in Indiana, they have a website also.
  10. i stopped by today at there shop and there saying the cam shaft is bad, i remembered you saying the compression release mechanism on the cam shaft is not working, so the -BRAIN DEAD- mechanics there to check it out. and it's pretty damn bad it's been 3 full weeks and there steal dicking around with it! THANKS AGAIN D.D
  11. well i called the shop yesterday and they said it's a stuck exhaust valve and today they sey it's not, whatever the problem is it's sure whipping there as*! maybe some time this year ill get it back!?!?!?!?!?
  12. yea im 100% sure the timing is correct, the shop told me they had checked it and it was not the problem it was instilled correctly. the bad thing is, is the people at the shop are confused on as of why it wont start and if anybody should know there stuff it's them LOL. but thanks DD for the help
  13. well whatever the case is i have always wondered if one was geared different or had more h.p. then the other
  14. will that cause it to try to start and stop tries to start and stops tries to start and stops over and over, like it has the hiccups but just wont start. the starter seems to be turning the engine over fine but thats not to sey it is.
  15. kind of weird i dont see why they did not keep the engines the same? i mean i know Kawasaki and Suzuki split up and went there own ways but back then they were together.
  16. i know Suzuki used there Z400 engine in the KFX400 but it seems like the Z400 is faster and has more acceleration.
  17. just wondering since Kawasaki and Suzuki use to make the z400 and kfx400 as one,(they seemed to be the same quad). was the transmission gearing any different in the 2 quads? it seams like the Z400 was faster and pulled harder then the KFX400 or did it!?!?!?!?
  18. if it is the compression release where is it located and whats up with it?
  19. quad still in shop SLOW as* people!:upsetn: im about to :smackbum:
  20. THANKS to EVERYONE for the help its in the local shops hands now i dont have a filler gauge to adjust the valves and i did not want to send a valve through the piston from bad timing. the shop can get me running right.
