Went to my first Supercross last weekend. I think I'll be going again next year!

Packing is the fiberglass or similar material inside the muffler. The stock muffler doesn't use packing. Just a metal baffle.

My son wants one of those BAD! Problem is, he'd outgrow it within a year.

ok but if the packing in the pipe is full of oil what would make the oil get up to the pipe?

Sounds like valve seals to me. When you change the oil, see if you can measure what comes out. May have been over-filled.

I was able to get a manual for my sons '02 YZ85 from Rockymountain. Factory manual, not a clymer or anything, and they had it in stock.

Sorry to hear that Chris. Mine is an 05 I bought new and haven't had a lick of trouble with it. The only things I've had to fix were things I broke myself. A new LTR would be cool though!

Craigslist is only as reliable as the person placing the ad. Use good judgement and common sense when making a purchase. I've had good luck with them. Sold 2 bikes and a quad and bought a bike off craigslist. It's just a modern version of a classified ad.

Did you charge the new battery? If it will start with a charger hooked up, it sounds like your battery isn't fully charged.
