  1. They sell an extender that mounts on the thumb throttle that

Makes it easier to use ... Makes it longer an easier to push

So it wouldent bother u as much an u wouldent have to worry

About the twist causing issues an making it dangerous in some

Conditions ... An they are pretty cheap compared to a conversion

    Kit .. Or a combo kit ...

  2. 201 hours is not really that many hours ... I have an 03 650 Kawasaki prairie

And it has 1625 miles and 253 hours .... But I Do slow trail rides and pull a

Small trailer with fire wood and use it to Do any thing I need to

And I have raced it in cross country races in the IXCR and it's in great running

And riding shape .. I'll be changing the drive belt this spring for the

    First time ...

So the hours on that machine are not bad .. The only thing I would

Be looking at are the wheel bearings and brakes to make shure

    They are good ..

  3. How many hours are on it ?

I've seen some atvs that were used on old fire roads and

On log roads that alot of miles but didn't have alot of hours

On them .. So u gotta look at both to figure out if it's gonna need

Alot of maintenance repairs in the near future

  4. Your sylinoid may be bad or it's having a power drain cause it's

Covered in snow an ice .. I would thaw it out and make shure

There is no ice an snow on it and then try ... If it starts then that was

It if not change it ... I use only rotella 15W-40 in my machines and I've

Owned several 400ex machines and used it in them with no issues

    Good luck and enjoy ...

  5. Yes I would clean the carb .. The choke cable should come off

Pretty easy ... If it screws into the carb I would leave it on

And try to clean it that way ... A can of chemtool should do

The trick .. Make shure the float and needle are in good shape

If not then buy a kit an replace them .. Sounds like u got a

Good deal .. You could part it out and make money at that

    Price...

  6. I only use rotella 15-40 in air cooled machines

And rotella 10-40 in water cooled machines

    I'm a mechanic / tech on autos and atvs/motorcycles

And have used the rotella in all my machines for the

Last 10+ years and also put it in every machine I do

oil change service on.. In my shop..

  7. I've had good luck with my prairies so far and not had to

    Replace mine yet..

If you go on YouTube there are Vids^^^ that show u how

    To do it ...

I've replaced some on other machines and had some that were

Easy and others that didn't wana come apart and heat an major

Force were needed ... So good luck ... An a little soaking with wd-40

Or another penetrating oil over nite might make it easier ..

  8. U might wana put it on a battery charger on the lowest setting

For several hours.. Maybe over nite and see if it will try to turn

    It over..

I know that the battery in my sons quad won't start my big utility quad ...

As it dosent have enough amperage ... It will click or may make the starter

Drag ... An turn very slowly till it comes up on the compression stroke and

Then it will stop and click .. You might need alot bigger battery or 1 that

Has more amps per hour rating ...

  9. well ive had good luck with the kawasakis... I do know that there has been some issues with the water in the air box but that is an easy fix with a short snorkel ...as for electrical issues on them ive not ran into any as of yet .. but have heard of some ...oil leaks will happen with both machines ...just the nature of small motors that run hot ...

I also know that the Honda will cost a lot to have fixed if you ever have tranny issues ..its a good machine but will break the bank if it ever needs to have any repairs done that the average atv guy dosent do or don't know how to do it ...

as far as power and torque ..the Kawasaki wins that hand down..

I have owned several kawasakis and currently have 2 V-twinn machines ..

I have also owned several Honda 4x4 atvs and they are good machines also.. just never had any good luck with Hondas electric shift system..

butt any way if it was me buying another 4x4 atv I would buy the Kawasaki ..

but I wouldent buy eather 1 if they are hi miles and hi hour machines...

    hope this helps ...
