  1. I recently replaced the oil in my ATV and now I smell oil burning which it didn't before. I used automotive 10w30 full synthetic. I used the same oil on the previous oil change without issue. I had researched the oil before to decide if I needed to pay up for ATV oil and there were many posts that stated automotive synthetic oil would be fine. Now I'm not sure what to do. The only thing I did different this time was replace the filter cartridge rather than clean it and I believe it was the same brand of oil.

  2. I replaced the shoes on back and both fronts. Seems better but still not great. The adjusters on the front were all seized and a real pan to free up. One ended up getting a warp so it doesn't work very well now. I got it together as well as I could but really hard to adjust the shoes. Especially when it is full time 4x4 so when you turn the wheel you get the resistance of the other wheel etc...

  3. I adjusted the brake handle and when I engage the brakes the handle still has a lot of resistance but the brakes don't stop well.  I saw another post here with the same issue and they suggested to adjust the shoes. I took my brakes apart and the adjusters are seized. I tried to figure out how they work so I loosened the side that is in the wheel cylinder and removed it but there is no thread to go in or out so I don't know how they work. I sanded the pads a bit to get them rough. Reassembled and same issue.

  4. Okay I did a little more digging and found that there is very little clearance if any between the support that attached to the ball and the bottom of the atv. Should there be clearance? If yes then how much? I also raised the blower legs because the blade was right on the ground. I tried the ratchet strap but there is no give because the support is basically on the bottom of the atv. I also noticed the guy has 20 psi in the tires, I think iot should be 3.5.

  5. They didn't seem to have the bulb I needed. Dealer wants $12.99. Found it at napa autoparts for .74 but need to buy 10. Still ahead of the game. Im buying an ATV snowblower 15 hp mounted to the Kodiak. It is going to work out to 3800 for ATV 2300 for blower, new battery, winch and comes with a second seat and tool box. I think it is a descent deal.
