  1. Took my 05 for a ride yesterday after getting it dynoed and tuned and it scared me. I had a dead empty tank before I started it (brother needed gas ) and when I was riding it at steady throttle I could feel it giving up a little and it was popping way more and backfiring on decel. I was riding with a friend who was also having problems with his quad when mine just gave up and died in 5th gear so I pulled in the clutch and popped it in 4th so it would start. It started and seemed to run fine after a while at a stop sign talking and worrying. Seemed to not "give up" on steady throttle after a while. I was thinking this all could be the result of a dirty carb since I had an empty tank (all the garbage at the bottom). Any input?

Part 2 : Ever since before the dyno and tune my quad ticks steadily when I'm letting it out of first gear. Why would this be happening?

Its a 2005 Honda 450r with a pro circuit full exhaust, k&n filter, no lid, no pre filter, and sprockets.

  2. I picked up a new baby last Saturday and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Its an '86 atc250r with a title. I'm the 4th owner of it and it only has one rebuild (stock), fmf pipe, dg silencer, and k&n filter. Wondering how much it should be worth? I'll tell the price after a few replies :cute:

  3. I have a 450r and recently bought two hotdogz full exhausts for my 450r even though I have a pro circuit one(its really dirty anyway). I swapped them yesterday and it sounds a little lean (popping while giving steady low throttle) which seems normal because this pipe looks less restrictive. I don't think i'll have time to jet it before this Sunday so MY QUESTION IS: is it okay to run it for a few hours if the jetting isn't perfect? :GEEK:

  4. Well, I rode my 05 450r yesterday like I always do, maybe a little harder than usual. But then again I never beat on my bikes. Seemed to get really hot, but the fan didn't turn on! Nothing crazy like coolant boiling out of the radiator, but it was HOT. Ever since i bought it, it hasnt used a drop of Anti-freeze that's in it. Any help is appreciated

  5. I currently have a 2005 trx450r, which i'm trying to sell in order to buy a dirtbike! The only experience i have on a dirtbike is when i had my kx85 for a few months. I'm debating on whether i should get a crf150r or crf250r to start with. I know the 250 is big, and has a bunch of compression at a ratio of 13.2:1. But what do you guys think? :skeptic:

  6. I recently bought my first 450r from a buddy of mine :D its a 2005 with a JD widening kit(i think thats the brand), pro circuit full exhaust, jet kit, k&n filter, outerwear, ITP rims, front bumber, AC six pack rack, custom seat, and i think its +4 on the swingarm. Would the swingarm give me trouble at an mx track? im definitely going to take off the lowering/widening kit

  7. Sorry if this has already been posted, but i read in DirtWheels magazine(awesome mag) that 450r shocks fit on a 400ex! Wondering if i need any modifications in order to do so? Also, it would make a noticeable difference right? Thanks for any imput

  8. The 2009 goes way faster! My buddy has one and kept up with my brothers 08 450er when it was stock. Keep in mind that the 450er is carburated. Also, youll probably be able to get warranty for the 2008. My friends 2009 z400 has given him various problems with the clutch slipping and skid plates being rubbed by the chain.
