i also have a 93 polaris 350L but not shure what it weighs ... any one know ?
2011 trail boss is 530lbs ....
-
my arctic cat is around 600lbs .. its heavy for only being a 250
a little tank!
-
some quads are very heavy ... my polaris 500X2 weighs 798 lbs dry ...
man o man. i didn't think you were serious, so i went online and saw a 2008 500x2 weighed in at 830lbs. dry. is that retarded or what? you sure don't want that beast to roll onto you for sure! sorry i doubted you. hahaha

the 550 is a nice choice, the one i saw was real nice, burgandy and subtle black (old school) flames. check out kijiji for calgary. there are some beauty deals there, and or edmonton. they seem to be in much better shape and less cost than in the fort mac area. and welcome to qc
the power steering factor isn't a big deal unless you put a bigger and more aggressive tire on the quad. and maybe make sure you don't get something in 4 wheel all the time, 2 to 4 select is really nice. just saying cause i have a 660 and 350. both are about the same armstrong steering...
don't know what your budget is so i kept these 5 and under i think ...

offer him 3 or 4. how much for parts and whats your time worth to fix it? if its in good shape, snag it. if the parts come in under 500 $ then you have a nice machine for a grand. IMO...
what is gone in the motor? just top end?

thanks for the info. i went to see a yamaha mechanic and he said the same thing, just tight fit, he recommended putting grease or lube on the spline after it was clean for a snugger fit. just that easy ... LOL
-
i took apart the rear disc brake (cover, disc, caliper, pads) and when i was putting it all back together, i noticed the disc on the spline was not secured by a lock ring or anything. i looked at schematics and there is nothing holding that disc on. is this right? seems like a poor design to me ....

i had no spark on my 91 and replaced the stator. friends told me yamaha was bad fora few years with stators. an aftermarket cost a little over 200 here in canada.

hey all
just about to purchase a snorkel kit for my 05 660 grizzly and was wondering about something.
the one kit im looking at is the nicest looking yet, but it is only intake, cvt and other vent lines. i saw other kits that include the drive belt.
just wondering which one i should go with. if i really don't need a breather for the belt, im ordering the kit online today. i have driven in water before lots of times and my belt has never slipped once.
thanks
david
