  1. Mig is easiest to learn but not easiest to master. Agree go with the biggest 110 machine you can get. If you use gas the material must be 100% clean. New material is even better. Flux core mig can be used on dirty metal but if you run gas with it, it will make the welds prettier Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
  2. Yes there should be no play at all Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
  3. Change the gas and I would clean the carb. its not hard at all. Are you sure its a fuel problem and not an ignition problem?
  4. If a trail machine is what your looking for I would fix it. If your a 450 fanboy then it wont be what you need.
  5. Def have to check your compression and do a leakdown. For the time being check your valve clearances. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
  6. Did you look for a used or new machine? An older Miller is still a great machine. I have 3 Miller 350p machines that are still running strong after 20+ pallets (yes pallets) of 035 wire has been run through them. I run 90/10 gas with excellent weld penetration. 8. Find one that has a JASO MA rating. I use Rotella T6 Synthetic diesel in my ex
  9. Yeah that is one of the quirks with our 400ex machines. Glad your back in the trails!
  10. Did you adjust the valves? If they arent within spec you wont start.
  11. you might need a carb cleaning and while your at it let us know what #s your jets are. Clean the carb 3 times over. pull the plug and see what color it is.
  12. What voltage are you getting at idle? Did you load test the battery? It might not hold a charge. Check all your connections first. every last one of them. clean em and dielectric grease them. remove your grounds and sand paper the frame underneath. then if you still have a problem let us know. I have a 400ex with a 500 kit at 11:1. I run Rotella T6 synthetic diesel oil. I also use 93 octane with Ethanol Shield mixed in.
  13. That sucks! I dont want to be stuck at the #2 spot forever!!
  14. If the oil has a jaso ma rating on it, it fine for wet clutch atvs no matter who makes it. As I said above i use rotella t6 now but was previously using rotella t 15-40.
  15. I agree with xwrench. There should of been a work order created when you dropped off you quad. On that work order should of been what you wanted done no more no less. I had an engine that was taken apart by a previous "Famous race shop" I found a second honest race shop. At the second shop, every time I had work done, a work order was created and signed by me. Even if i wanted to change my mind during the build a new work order was created to reflect those changes. Also on that work order was my price. If the builder ran into a problem and needed to charge me more or less guess what it was on the work order with my signature.
  16. I use Rotella T6 5w-40 diesel oil in my 400EX.
