  1. First, I'm a mechanical novice, so please bear with my ignorance, I'm trying. 02 Eiger LTA400 - 4wd Auto 400 Picked it up on the cheap due to assumed broken drive belt (motors starts, goes nowhere). Also has to be pull-started, seems starter is shot (or wiring is). Pulled the cover off for the drive belt and definitely toast. Thing is he said he replaced not long ago, so suspicious of why it would break so quickly. He thought he had the wrong part, but looking at the part packaging, looks right to me (Dayco HP2027 - admittedly not highest quality belt, but still). I'm not an expert, but the primary and secondary do not seem to be lined up correctly? Any clues on this? Trying to upload pics to show... Broken Belt Alignment Help please! Brian
  2. When my atv is put in 4 wheel, it makes some growling noises and then kicks itself out of gear. Has anyone had the front end apart with a similar problem?
  3. Can anyone tell me where the oil filter is and what type of oil to use? And where can I buy a master cylinder for my back brake without going totally broke? Oh, and can you tell me how to get the AIR filter off, I found it but can't get it off. I have no manuals or anything and don't want to mess anything up. Thanks
  4. I have a 2007 Arctic Cat 700 EFI 4x4 and while i am riding it keeps jumping in and out 4x4 to 2 wheeler drive how do i fix it ? thanks

  6. Not sure that this really is a 2003, but that's the date on the label on the front of the chassis. Anyway, this is one of the electronic gear models with switchable auto or electronic shifting. The D-N-R is done with a level to the left of the fuel tank. After sitting out in the snow for a few weeks over Christmas reverse become very stiff to engage and often did not despite the level being in position. After riding for about 20 mins it seemed to fee up and engage. Now I'm having the same trouble even getting drive. I know the lever just pulls a cable which attaches to a metal tube down near the back of the footplate on the left hand side. This rotates a rod which I assume is linked in somewhere to the gear changing. I can currently change gear by getting a set of molegrips on that and turning it. I assume its that rod that'stiff and not the cable because the cable looks nice and clean. I will take the cable off and check, but it's the middle of lambing season right now and quad maintenance isn't top of my list. Any ideas what's inside the gear linkage and what might make it stiff, if it is stiff? The engine oil is clean and full, I don't think the gear case oil or diff oil would affect this? Any hints or tips very welcome. Thanks
  7. :skeptic:I own a TRX500FA Honda Foreman Rubicon 2002. My son stuck a corn stalk into the front drive shaft oil seal. The shaft that comes out of the front of the motor, going to the front drive axle. I need to know what my options are to replacing it. The seal is ruined. Do I need to tear down the lower unit of the motor to replace the seal or does the drive shaft seperte. Please let me know. Or if anybody knows where I can download a repair manual of the web, or email me one that would be great. Not really wanting to purchase one. I will if I absolutely need to. Any Info would be greatly appreciated. Thxs. WeekEndWarrior.
  8. This is my first UTV, and it is getting too hot to drive. It is a Polaris Ranger 700XP and doesn't take long before it gets hot. I wore sandals while driving it the other day and my foot was extremely hot and uncomfortable. Feels like the motor isn't getting cooled off. Any suggestions... I need help so I can enjoy my toy.
  9. Goodyear introduces carbon fiber ATV drive belt ATV BELT HEALS SELF – Goodyear’s new Gatorback Sport ATV drive belt is the first CVT belt with carbon fiber reinforcement in its rubber compound. When handling an extreme load demand, the carbon fiber allows desired slippage on pulleys without top-width belt distortion. After the extreme demand subsides, the carbon material restores the integrity of belt edges in order to handle the normal load demand. http://www.goodyearatv.com/docs/press/gatorback_atv_rel.pdf
