  4. A friend contacted me last week and told me he had just bought some tracks for his Arctic Cat 700. He told me he and some Search & Rescue friends of his, who also have tracks, were going for a ride and asked if I wanted to come along and see some new country. :toetap05c: Gee … does a bear …. In the woods ?? HELL YEAH !! :hurrayc: HOWEVER, I wasn’t crazy that this area was up by a ski resort, on a narrow, windy road and on a weekend. But heck, it still sounded better than stay’in home in the inversion we’re in at home. There were five of us, the friend on an Arctic Cat 700, one Yamaha Rhino, one Polaris 4 seater RZR, one snowmobile, & myself on the “Bad To The Bone” Can-Am 800 Outlander MAX. :coolgleamAc: The area is called “Aspen Grove” and it’s up Provo Canyon by Sundance Ski Resort. The days ride would be road riding which isn’t my preferred type of track riding, but again, it beats stay’in home. Also, this country is REAL steep, so I’m not sure we could of done much boon-docking anyways. But all was good as it was. Lots of people were out too. We saw a several out walk’in their dogs, several cross country skiers, one guy on a fat wheeled mountain bike, one runner, and several other snowmobilers. We had a couple issues during the day. At the beginning the Arctic Cat had some EFI fault code thing going on and the bike didn’t want to run, but the guy did something and got it to run OK. Later, the 4 seater Polaris was do’in a little play’in and hit a rock with his right rear tracks and knocked it off the drive sprocket. :slap: We got the track back on, but it appeared he may have bent the large front bogie wheel support too. So he’ll have to check that out. It was a great day to be in the out-of-doors. The sun was out, the sky was blue, and there was snow, beautiful scenery, a bunch of friendly guys & no worries. What more could a guy ask for I ask ya ?? :woot: Here’s a short video of the days ride. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RauILQAnJoI]19 Jan 2013 - Aspen Grove Ride - YouTube[/ame] ...
  5. Leerjaks having a New Year's Day ride , 1-1-13 Tuesday 8am till dark. Leerjak Off-Road Ranch - Home Or check it out on Facebook.
  6. Went and played in the snow today !! Here`s a few pics ! My buddy caught a root and spun him around !!:laugh:Bent rim and flat tire Broke out the BBQ and burgers and sausages !! temps in the upper 40`s Perfect day !!
  7. Got the tracks put on the Outty & decided to run up to the mountains today to check out the snow conditions, do some more testing of the Drift GHOST HD Helmet Camera I just got, test out some of the camera mounts I put on my helmet, and a few other things. The day was overcast, temps were cool at 23 deg F with winds 40 to 50 mph and light snow. It was GREAT !! :woot: I took some video in 1080p, 960p, WVGA & the majority in 720p. After looking at them when I returned home, to me, the 960 & 720p looked the best. I added two camera mounts to my helmet. One is on the side of the face shield & the videos with the camera there are pretty good with not much helmet in them. The other mount is on top of the helmet & you get an “Overall” view. Not sure which location I like better. Both mounts are stick-on with 3M sticky stuff, they seem to hold real well … however, I was walking thru the trees to take some photo’s, a branch hit the mount glued to the side of the face shield & popped that camera off like it wasn’t even glued. I’m sure the cold temps didn’t help either. I also took some video with one of my older HD170 cameras. The exposure setting on both the HD170 & the GHOST were set at zero … and you’ll see that the HD170 is much darker. So on overcast days, I’ll have to remember to set that camera at +1. I must’ve hit the remote too many times at some point today too, because I had 177 photo’s instead of video. Dang it, that means I’m gonna have to re-read the instructions ……….. again …. Here’s a short video of today’s ride, hope you enjoy it … [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8Mlhopr9KY]12 Dec 2012 - 1st Track Ride - 2012-2013 Season - YouTube[/ame] ....

  12. The campaign, created by Tread Lightly, unites the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Utah Division of State Parks, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and the Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration together in an effort to spread a consistent message throughout the state. Tread Lightly! also brings funding and support from the private sector, such as Yamaha’s OHV Access Initiative and the National Shooting Sports Foundation, making this a public/private partnership promoting conservation and sustainable outdoor recreation. The outreach effort is centered on the slogan RIDE ON Designated Routes, originally created for national application but now being customized with Utah-specific images. Since 1998, the number of off-highway vehicles (OHVs) registered in Utah has nearly tripled, putting additional pressure on Utah's public lands, especially in popular riding areas. RIDE ON reinforces that responsible recreation is the key to preserving and protecting Utah's many great motorized recreation opportunities. The initiative will also expand to address issues like safety and resource damage– today’s most pressing recreation issues in Utah.
  13. How well does the commanders air ride stuff work and is it only on the limited or is it on all. And how much would it cost to buy them and put them on myself

  15. Hey all. I just went trail riding this weekend with a friend who has a KingQuad. Coming from only knowing solid rear axles, I was FLOORED at how much better his quad rode. I've been told this is something inherent to most IRS quads. I don't really want to get a new one, but boy oh boy would I like to see if there is anything out there to improve the way my Big Bear rides. For the most part, I only use my quad for towing, pulling, and plowing...so I think I'm better off for having a SRA, but I just thought I'd ask what, if anything, I could try to help. A few things about my quad: It is bone stock. Stock rims/tires, stock exhaust...etc. I have heard maybe tires could improve the handling (less sidewall roll), but other than that, I was curious what else to try. Thanks!
  16. Sorry for the short notice, but three of us are heading up to Silver Lake Dunes in Michigan to ride Sept. 27th - 29th. If anyone is enterested hit me up.
  17. Let see where everyone wants to ride. Listed are the places I know of. The top ones seem like the best choices. So far the ride is planned for sometime in October 2012 so state trails are closed but we can move it to the spring if need be (That will be the next poll) Poll Closes September 16th to give us some time to pick a day.
  18. Decided to go for a ride yesterday (05 Jul 012) .... The day started off cloudy, but it was dry & dusty .... that didn't last long ........ WHAT A GREAT DAY !!! Ya need to listen to the very first part of the video to hear my enjoyment !! I figured, most people would have left the mountains after the 4th .... boy was I wrong !! ... There were so many freak'in people up there ........ and stupid ones too. Most of them must have also thought they were the only ones on the mountain, cause I was rid'in easy up this road when some Wingnut came fly'in around a blind corner in his 4 passenger UTV & about took me out !! Then later after it had been raining for a while, I was going up this trail. It was kinda steep (steeper than it looks in the video BTW), black greasy mountain mud & rocky ... so I was kinda of committed .... I come around these trees & there's three guys parked at the top of the hill .... I was sure they'd move ....... Nope, guess they figured I was a figment of their imagination. So I go around them to the right ... but there's a burnt stump in my way ... so I head uphill to go around that ... and it's on a slope ... turn downhill towards the trail & there's a downed tree in the way ... & I have my wheels cranked downhill ... when I hit that I was sure I'd roll so I just kept the throttle twisted .... made it .... then there was another log in the grass ... I didn't want to hit it going to fast because on the other side the trail is narrow & falls away down a slope (it doesn't appear like that in the video, but trust me, it did) .... so I slowed down just a little ... and got high centered. After a couple seconds one of the Yo-Yo's comes over & helps push me over the log .... and I still dang near went over the side of the trail !! The rest of the ride was just wet & slippery & the Interco Reptiles just clawed up & over stuff like it was noth'in !! Saw Moose, deer, skeeters & some SQUIRREL !!!.......... and way to many people for my liking I might add !! Here's the video, hope you enjoy it .... 19. What’s up everyone! I wanted to drop by and fill everyone in on this year Haunted Forest Ride, which is slated for Oct 19-21 at Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park just east of Pineville, KY. The event has grown tremendously, with approximately 5,000 people at last year’s event. This year, we’re blowing the doors off this thing with an epicly huge event that everyone can enjoy. Brian Fisher of Fisher’s ATV World is back again to hang out with fans and get lots of amazing footage for his show on the Outdoor Channel. This year’s event will feature a huge concert that will rock the crowd with a heavy dose of country swag. Act will be announced in next few weeks. The concert is optional and tickets (in form of wristbands) will also serve as a VIP access to the Haunted Trail: people who have them will be able to go through the trail first. Plus, we just got a grant from Yamaha to make tons of killer new wooded trails all over Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park this summer and we will be making their official grand opening at the event. The Holler Crawlers have been working and planning for months about this year’s event, and we are confident it’s going to blow everyone away. We have a ton of things slated for the event; including past favorites such as live music, kid’s event area, rock crawling demos, vendors row, ATV costume contest, ATV Prize Raffle, Poker Run, guided ATV rides, and of course the Haunted ATV Trail with all new scenes(Saturday only). Plus, we will have new features such as the grand opening of lots of new wooded trails, mud drags, a ghost walking tour, and two world record attempts: Most ATVs in a Parade and Most UTVs in a Parade. To break these records we need all hands on deck. Invite your family, friends, and even that crazy uncle that you don’t like to be seen in public with. We want all clubs to band together to help break this record and we plan on honoring all clubs and all people who participate in helping us bring the records back to Kentucky and Appalachia. If we are successful in the record attempts, we will have a sign erected at the main trail head to commemorate every club and every individual who participated. Clubs who bring 5-9 people will have their logo near the bottom of the sign, clubs with 10-19 members who participate will get a medium size logo in the middle, and clubs who bring 20 or more get a large logo at the top of the sign. Underneath the logos we will have the names of every participant for both records. This is our way of saying that its not just about our club; this record is about all our friends in other clubs and saying thanks to them and to everyone who came and participated. Please come and wear your club shirts to the event. We plan on getting many aerial videos and photos that will be seen on the Outdoor Channel and in national publications. Coolest part: event is free of charge, as is riding on Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park. The only features of the event that cost are the concert, the Poker Run, and purchasing raffle tickets for the ATV prize raffle. More info at Events | Holler Crawlers ATV Club - Bell County, KY Hope to see everyone down here in Bell County, KY on Oct 19-21! Any questions, email us at [email protected] Thanks guys and gals. 20. hello. i just got a 2000 artic cat 500 4x4. I've got tons of questions. the prior owner was unsure. it wont run. i removed the tank strainer and carb. both are gummud up solid:) I'm working on that now. I'll let you know. It was really easy to remove both:). - How can i tell what year the machine is for sure? - should it have a dip stick on the oil filler cap, or do I fill the oil to the top of the fill hole? - where is a good place to get online parts? - what year did these bikes go to independent rear suspension? thanks for letting me join the forum. dale

More of a friend of a friend wheels & deals in atvs & parts he bought a quad trade it for a rino out of pocket he ended up with 4,000 spent to get the rino & traded it even for an 2012 Brute Force 750. What a blast to ride!!! To bad I have empty pockets he resold the BF last night for 5,000 or 5,500 either way what a deal. I couldn't get over how smooth it rode & the power was extra sweet I'm still on cloud 9.5 if it were mine I would be on cloud 10.
