  1. My 2002 warrior needs new countershaft oil seal but the kit came with a collar also. I can pull the sprocket and old oil seal out but how the heck do I get a grip to remove the collar from the shaft? I can't find a how to anywhere online. Any help would be great.
  2. •••• My ATV: '94 Yamaha Kodiak 400 - YFM400FWF •••• I know you've heard this before, but as you can see by the list below, I've tried all the Normal stuff. If the engine sits for any period of time and cools below 80 degrees, it won't start. I've checked all of the following, but the it still won't start when cool. The spark plug gets saturated with gas after cranking - choke or no choke. No fuel runs out of overflow. Got good spark (OK) - NGK IRIDIUM DR8EIX - gap 0.28 Carb rebuilt (OK) Rechecked float pin and seat (OK) Pilot Jet set 2 turns out (OK) Removed and Checked Choke O-ring (OK) Adjusted intake and exhaust valves reset to spec. (OK) Battery charged (OK) Checked, Cleaned and applied Dielectric grease to All Wiring Connections. Got good compression 118 psi cold engine. - 152 psi Warm After I warmed the head with a blowing propane heater and it did finally start and would start easily when the engine was warm. What else is there to check? Saturday 10/15/2011, it was unseasonably warm (80 degrees) The Kodiak started right up. ••• Still guessing
  3. About 2 months ago I took drove my big bear from the garage and parked it in the shed, no problems. I started and ran great. Today i tried to start it and it wouldn't fire. i pulled the plug and put it nxt to the cyinder and ther was no spark. I put a screwdriver in place of the plug, in case it was a bad plug, and same thing, nothing. I checked the 30 amp fuse but no idea what to check next, or how to check it. I highly doubt it's the CDI box, or stator, I don't believe they would just die like that. Any suggestions????
  4. Does anyone have an opinion on the performance of a stage 1 hotcam for a Yamaha Warrio? It is bored .40 over with a flat top piston and a port and polish. Do you think a Stage one cam will compliment the work done already without having to change the crank and valve springs?
  5. i have a 2002 yamaha wolverine and it starts fine but when i go to press on the gas when i put it in gear it bogs out untill i let off the throttle but most the time before i let the throttle out it shuts off! so then i have to pull the choke out and i have to let it sit for like 8 min and it still does it but wont shut off what makes it do this?
  6. My Yamaha kodaik 450 4 wheel on commanded started to make a funny noise today it sounds like something scraping in the left front tire. on any surfaces in two wheel and fourwheel drive. the noise happens at random. i have taken the tire off and put it back on. and my hub is tight... i took the hub off and when i spin the wheel it builds up pressure and the makes the noise and then releases the pressure

  10. Badley warped, bent and marked up rear rotor. My 1987 Warrior's rotor is about an inch larger then the ones readily available. Is there an easy way of moving the caliper in to fix the problem. Any body make the larger rotor at about 9-5/8" outside diameter for Yamaha Warriors.

  12. Wienen Makes it Two in a Row at Muddy Creek Raceway ATVMX by: Jennifer Kenyon Saturday April 21st, 2012 Contact: Jen Kenyon ATV Motocross [email protected] 304.284.0084 For Immediate Release Wienen Makes it Two in a Row at Muddy Creek Raceway ATVMX Blountville, Tenn. (April 21, 2012) – Round two of the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series headed to Muddy Creek Raceway for round two of the ten-race series. It was Chad Wienen who came out victorious, sweeping both motos of the day and extending his points lead over defending champion John Natalie in the overall standings. Photo By: Ken Hill Harold Goodman took the Moto 1 HoleshotThe ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier came from Motoworks/Can-Am’s Joel Hetrick for the second race in a row, as the young Pennsylvania rider showed some of the fastest speeds of the weekend. And ATVMX veteran Harold Goodman shot out to the Moto 1 SSi Decals holeshot, but it was Baldwin Motorports/PEP’s Josh Upperman who got into the early lead before Natalie moved into the lead by lap three. Wienen had a mid-pack holeshot but quickly put himself within striking distance of Natalie’s lead and the duo picked up the intense battle right where they left off at round one. Wienen stalked Natalie until the final lap and once again cut underneath the Ironman to steal the last minute lead and Moto 1 victory as the rain started to fall on the Muddy Creek Raceway terrain. Hetrick got off to a bad start but put his Motoworks/Can-Am into the third spot around lap five and kept a comfortable cushion on Upperman, who finished in fourth. Thomas Brown struggled off the start, but worked his way through the pack on his TBROWN Yamaha powered by Moto-X-Perts, where he maintained a fifth place finish, just ahead of Lonestar/SSi Decals rider Nick DeNoble. In Moto 2, Wienen took control early on, while Natalie settled into a close second and that’s how they finished. Hetrick started off in fifth place as he passed his way back into the third spot, gunning for the leaders that were less than four seconds away throughout the entire race. Wienen went on to secure his second straight win of the season, while Natalie and Hetrick grabbed the other two podium positions. Photo By: Ken Hill Wienen takes his second straight victory in TN“The new Yamaha is awesome, I’m starting to get more comfortable on it and especially in the mud today, I feel like I barely even rode the thing!” Wienen said. “It’s crazy to think that nine months ago I was laid up in bed and after a lot of hard work and determination we’ve gotten to where were at and I’m just having fun and paying my dues, taking it one race at a time.” Although Upperman claimed the SSi Decals Holeshot Award, the Honda rider settled into fourth and maintained that position for the rest of the second moto, going 4-4 for fourth overall for the day. Thomas Brown (YAM) finished with a 5-6 score to take fifth overall, just ahead of Joe Byrd (HON), who took home sixth overall. Nick DeNoble (HON) ended the day with seventh place, ahead of Derek Swartfager (HON), while rookie Mark Madl (HON) took ninth and Harold Goodman (HON) rounded out the top ten. 16. Well I'm new to the forum here, so first off hello to everyone. Well here is my really long story. I have a 1992 Timberwolf 250 and I'm having some problems with it. First off the starter is acting up. It will make a grinding noise when I am cranking in over, but not all the time, its only about 40% of the time. So I figured my starter drive was missing some teeth or the reducer gear or flywheel were. When I took the starter of everything was looking strong with no chips or missing teeth. After this I put the starter back on and with the spark plug out it would turn over and never miss a beat. As soon as I put the plug back in, it does the same thing, grinds 40% of the time. Is my starter drive bad or the whole starter? Any other suggestions? Thanks
  17. it is a 99 blaster just bought it tonight. The guy told me it has a brand new clutch in it. Ride rode it around for awhile now when you pull the clutch in it feels like there is nothing there and the clutch doesnt disengage. When you force it in it still goes so i dont think the clutch is out of it what could i do to fix this
  18. Hello all, I sure hope ya'll can help me out. I'm going to the UP of Michigan in the middle of next month and my bro up there is trying to get his 96 Yamaha kodiak 400 running right. my bro is a pretty good mechanic but he is kind of new to 4-stroke motorcycle engines. He is going to contact original owner to find out what has been done to it if anything Here's the low-down as I understand it. The ATV was originally purchased by bro's dads friend, older guy (60's) for hunting, two years ago bro's dad bought it cheap, it was running rough so it was stored untill recently when bro got it from his dad. ATV has 1500 adult miles on it, in good shape After it sits all night with the fuel petcock off it will start right up but then it starts running poorly and if shut off is hard to start again. He has noticed some gas accumulation in the airbox. Bogs down or will not run when reved or attempting to move. Sparkplug is very black, good plug, good gap. Some backfiring I ordered and sent him (poor guy doesnt have internet:laugh:) a rebuild kit and a manual. I am thinking the choke o-rings are messed up or the float is bad and its flooding badly, thus the gas in the airbox. DANGER! Does anyone know what the correct weight for one of these floats is? All Ideas/comments welcome! Thanks
  19. Hi, I'm looking to find any kind of Mods to do to my 92 blaster to make it quicker. And if you could include some websites to go to also that would be great. Thanks.
  20. a couple things i would like to find out more info on ... 1/. brakes for this bike, has anyone converted the front drum to disc? is there a kit available or a front diff swap? 2/. when i had an 05 honda foreman, there was no running board and i was able to get a wire/metal mesh foot guard from royal distributing, an atv parts warehouse here in canada. this yamaha is the same and i would really like some protection for the feet/legs. are there nerf bars out there to accommodate or has anyone a line on running boards of some sort?
  21. Was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with excessive noise from the trans on this model. I picked one up for my son and did a little work on it, and have it running great but there is quite a bit of noise coming from the dual range side of the trans. Does this require oil? I look in the owners manual and could not find anything, any help would be greatly appreciated.
  22. THis is actually a Bruin 350, I fat fingered the thread title. This Bruin has been in storage for 1 year, with no stabil used and I'm attempting to bring this beast back to life. The only way I've been able to to start this thing is: 1. Leave fuel cock open overnite 2. Adjust choke to mid-choke 3. Press Start 4. Idles for 3-4 minutes on a really LABORED idle (not smooth idle, but sounds like puttering on its deathbead) However once I get it started, it seems to have a terribly labored idle for about 3-4 minutes, then dies. If you touch the trottle during idle warmup, it dies. Once it's dead, there is no getting it started again until the next day. I've done the following: 1. Visually inspected and cleaned sparkplug - verified spacing @ .025" 2. Drained old fuel and refueled with premium unleaded 3. Checked fuel flow from fuel cock to carb - smooth flow 4. Checked fuel flow from carb to carb fuel drain - smooth flow 5. Compression appears to be ok, however I do not have a tester, but placing my hand behind exhaust yields good pressure. I have Fuel, Spark and temp fire, what should I check next? Any moving parts in the carb that have a tendancy to get stuck? Perhaps the stator?
  23. Im new to the site and recently just bought a 97 kodiak 400 and was wondering if any could tell me alittle on the background of the quad, or many things to keep a eye on. Any advice would help, ive always had dirtbike and raced motocross and dont know much about quads. Thanks
  24. New ATV Rider, pick up a 95 Yamaha Big Bear 350 today and found the reverse cable was broken, can't find where it goes or how it works. Another question, where is the oil filter? The CV boots are torn, who makes the zipper type boots?
