  1. Where can I find a wiring diagram for my 2005 450 Kodiak. Thanks.
  2. I know this tooic has been addressed by many, I’ve looked through many forums and pages. I did not find anything like the problem i have. I have a 2007 Kingquad 450. I have a new fully charged battery. When i turn the key, the dash flashes and seems to struggle before getting fully lite. We can hear a small relay near the computer clicking, i think it is the fuel pump relay. When i turn off the engine kill switch and press the starting button relays click and all the power shuts off, i turn the key off, engine kill switch then start over, power is there. Atv will start with pull start, but not elextricly. if i try to use my winch, all power cuts and engine dies. Can anyone tell me what it may be? or has anyone fsced an issue like this before?
  3. I have a 2018 450 and the digital gause has started flashing on an off while driving. The backlit also goes on and off. It is worse when I hit the gas. The battery died a few weeks ago and I jumped it but its been fine until last night. Called the dealer and showed them a vid and they recommend replacing the gauge and its like 600 bucks. The machine has less than 100 hours on it. I would really hate to have to change it out. also the unit sometimes has trouble starting. Any ideas?
  4. I have a 2018 Kodiak 450 EPS that just this past Sunday I ran through a bit of water. After the puddle the belt was slipping, so I pulled over and drained the ultramatic housing and the slipping problem went away. This was all in L and everything seemed to work fine. Later when I got on a road, I put it in H, but it still rode like it was in low... i.e. I had to rev it up a lot just to get to 30mph. When at home I pulled the ultramatic cover off to inspect, and it looked okay in there. Not much dirt, belt and everything are clean, but when I rev up the engine (with cage in place, of course), the belt doesn't get to the top of the clutch (maxes out about an inch or 1.5" from top of clutch, so maybe it is normal).. I put it back together but same thing... H seems like L still. Do you think the clutch needs to be further dissected for cleaning, or could this be an issue with the gear selector?

  11. Hello everyone. My first post as a new owner to my first atv. I have a 2012 Kymco Maxxer 450i, which as I have found, is basically an Arctic Cat 450 xc. I just bought the atv and will be bringing it home from my cousins house, where i stored it after my first river test run, tomorrow. During my test run, I got it in about a foot to foot/half of water and got the belt soaked, and of course lost all power. I was able to fix it by popping off the cvt exhaust tube and revving the engine a bit, but this is a problem I need to fix...Before next weekend...I have a big river trip planned that will last the whole weekend. So, the AC/Kymco sucks in water...and for the life of me I cant seem to find a good video or guide on how to snorkel it. Am I to assume everyone just goes at it blind and just figures it out as they go? I dont want to pay $200 for someones pre-packaged pvc tubing, but it would be nice to find something that covers this topic. Tomorrow after work I will get a better idea of it once I have it in my garage. But I want to also know, do I have to snorkel the intake and exhaust vents? should I worry about the airbox as well? I actually have only seen the cvt exhaust vent so I dont know where the others are taking air from. I would love to see some examples of people snorkeling their AC/Kymco atvs so I can kind of plan where I should run my tubing. And I want to try and avoid cutting into my plastics...if possible. I also cant seem to find a replacement for the rubber hose that comes off the cvt, just encase I want to cut it and put it back to stock later to sell. Id like to see how much they cost first lol. Aside from this main questions, any tips or tricks I should know about this model before I spend the weekend putting it through hell? Should I run premium fuel? Yes, I am a noob to all this. I have ridden many ATVs, I have just never owned one. My cousin has like 7 or 8 of them so I have always been able to ride his. Now its time for me to learn lol. Thank you!

  13. I have a 2006 ltr 450 the starter is out on it but you can roll start it 2 days ago i rode it took a lil longer than normal to start but it started and rode just fine. Put it in the shed went to ride it tonite was even harder to start but finally got it started. When you go to hit the throttle it cuts out then it clears up and then would be fine if you bumped the throttle or was about half throttle. If you went full throttle it would bog down spit and sputter and the longer you did it would lose power gradually until it finally died. Any ideas on what it could be thanks in advance and this is my first 450 fuel injected quad

I have a kq 450 4x4 that I an have a problem with.the bike does not want to move.i am not very familiar with the sheave or clutch that it has on it.my buddy who owned it beat on it prolly never maintained it just so that's out there. The belt is fairly new primary and secondary clutchs are pretty ruff looking the rollers are toast I think but idk. Everything moves fine except for the primary it moves but does not push in to move the belt only at a high rpm will it move sometimes any clue on what it could be other then going out to spend 6 or 7 hundred on a whole new assembly of the clutchs
  15. I have a 2003 kodiak, 450, that the tail, light is being turned on by front brake control handlebar lever which I dont think should even happen . I have disconnected the brake switch by removing the spring. You can barely touch the lever and the tail light comes on the problem is after parking there is enough contact that the light dont burn but it will run the battery down in a period of 24 hours. Its a good machine with right at 5000 miles and 1500 hours but I am at the end of my rope with it
  16. hello everyone. I purchased a second hand honda foreman 450. I thought I found a diamond int he rough, but it appears to be a rough diamond. haha. My problem is related to two wires under the right rear fender above the tire (see pic). The wires are cut, and I'm unsure where they go. One wire appears to be yellow with a red stripe, the second appears to be a brownish color....... originally I had a green with red stripe wire, and grey wire cut, but I located those and re-wired them. Any help would be appreciated...... I hope this is related, but the iginition switch (neutral light/lights) don't seem to respond. I can crank the quad by arking the cylanoid, but i assume it has something to do with these wires. any help is appreciated. I just need to know where the wires go.
  17. Hello. I brought a apache rlx 450 last week. hasn't been run for 2 years but fully dry stored . It started up after putting the battery on charge first time. then run out of petrol. tried starting it after refuelling but no joy for hours and hours. decided to change plug to iridium platinum and fire up perfect first time. so took it for a run of road for a couple hours and was fine then started spluttering and backfiring loss of power. sorry for the essay. had the carb tray at the bottom open and was clear no dirt. emptied the tank . new ht lead and cover. sprayed some carb cleaner whilst running .seemed to get better. idles fine with odd splutter. just don't know what else it could be . or if its had it . help me lol
  18. this is completely bone stock 450 atv my ? is what kind of gas and oil should I use??? I know to use premium but should it be 110 or v-power???
  19. I am looking to get a new bike this spring. Its either going to be a yfz 450r or the raptor 700r.I can pick both bikes up for the same price.So i am asking for every ones thought on what they would pick. I mostly ride trails with family and friends. I have raced gncc but that was with my 250r(how i miss her but she was stolen guess someone needed her more than me) I have a family so i am not blowing down the trails.But when i am out with friends we do like to hill climb off cambers and ride faster. Whats everyones thoughts. Any input or info would be nice. Thanks for reading and helping.

  22. i just got a yfz 450 and it went though the compression test and it came back as 155 is that good or bad? how could i change it if its bad? or what should i do thank you:)
  23. I only started riding a few months ago. I'm very late to the game and have almost no experience riding, besides growing up on utility quads that I never had to work on and never left the ground with. I also have almost zero mechanical knowledge. But I'm willing to learn and my google-fu is strong. I also have a buddy that's willing to help me out with installation of new gear (even though he's just learning himself). After nearly two decades from the last time I rode, I decided to pick up a couple quads for the family. I wanted a sport quad for myself, so I got the KFX 450. I took it on a few trail rides before I got the balls to take it out to the motocross track. Out there, though, I'm finding that stock just isn't enough. Well, it's not completely stock. It has a steering stabilizer on it (whatever that does), and a few other small, non-performance based aftermarket parts. Oh, and I'm also running a 37 tooth rear sprocket. But it just doesn't seem to have enough power to hit the ramps at nearly the speeds that others are hitting them. Especially when I'm coming out of a turn followed shortly by another jump (admittedly, though, I'm sure some of that has to do with me being a bit of a sissy out there. This track is pretty scary. I don't have any small practice tracks near me, so I have no choice but do ride the big boy track). I guess what I'm looking for is this: The bike has a high top-end speed (like 75). I don't care about top speed. I rarely, if ever, need to break 45. I need a way to get the bike going much faster off the starting line. I'm extremely willing to put in the research and the work, I just need a good starting point from people that are much more experienced than I in these matters. I have money to spend, but not much at this very moment (I just dropped $1,500 on a new PC). Right now, I could probably drop $200-$300. If need be, I could probably afford $400-$500 a month in parts. I'm not saying I want to do that, but if I needed to save a bit to get parts, it's doable. I'm just trying to let you know my budget. What I'm looking for are suggestions on parts to get this bike faster off the line. Remember, I don't know anything about engines, so I apologize for the fact that you'll have to talk to me like a child. To be honest, I usually blindly follow knowledgeable forum users in these situations, but I'm very rarely let down. If I can find some suggestions on parts, I can buy them and work out the details later, the same as I do for many other things. I appreciate any advice you guys are willing to give. Thanks.
  24. hey all, so i been running dirtcars for years now and im getting out of it so i decided ima get me a 4-wheeler to have some fun with. Im looking on some input on yall thoughts as to which quad to get, ive narrowed it down to either the yfz450 or a trx450.
  25. I just sold my DS650. Im looking to get a KFX450, can anyone give me some good info on them. Any years to stay away from? Best year? Is there alot of mods? All input is good Thanks:wink:
