  1. My mother has a 05 John Deere 650 trail buck ext and someone told me that can am made the atv for JD. I was wondering what model can am it would be so I can find a service manual for it.
  2. I own a 2002 Can-Am Quest 650. It will start if you massage the throttle a bit and it will continue to run. BUT if you let go of the throttle and try to let it idle it will always die warm or cold. It has Non-Oxy premium gas, a new gapped NGK plug, a new carb (as of today) and fresh fluids. After installing the new carb it runs exactly the same. I only have a few things that I have observed since the new carb: The choke still doesn't do anything. It has a good cable and it is hooked up. It on fully off. There is a cable in the top, front of the engine that splits into two connectors. The connected side is in the photo. The other side has the yellow banded section and is not connected. I do not see anything in range of this connector so I don't know if this is normal or not??? The original carb wasn't really dirty or clogged. I'll use it as a spare. I don't see this cable and connectors listed in the Can-Am shop manual. Looking for some help. I want to ride!

  5. AL righty I did some trading around this weekend and ended up picking up a few 4 wheelers for cheap. I ended up with this one for $500 in it total and well the guy told me it dropped a valve. I haven't really messed with it at all. But this weekend I am going to try and start working on it some to get it running before winter time frame. So what I am asking is a couple of questions. 1. First off where do I start I tried pulling the pull cord and could not get it to move at all. 2. I need to get a service manual for this 4 wheeler where can I get it downloaded for free? 3. what do I need to look for and how do I go about this really. I do have experience with 4 wheelers but this one is a little different to me than others because its a V2 and I have no clue where to start internal on the engines. Most of my experience is on the outside portion of troubleshooting on theses wheelers. Please no smart butt answers as i am new to here but just wanted opinions on where to start. Please and thanks wink:

If someone has one we could download, we"d really appreciate it! We"re needing to replace the front cylinder and head, etc. for this new machine we just bought. All responses appreciated.   7. I have a 2002 prairie 650 and when i have the handlebars as straight as i can get them the one wheel toes out and isn't straight . is there anyway i can adjust this ? or anyway to rectify it .
  8. My "08" Arctic Cat 650 H1 runs (plows or runs a trail) great for the first 15 minutes. I can get all the power needed. It starts cutting out when it gets warm/hot. There is no heat error and plenty of antifreeze, new spark plug and air filter. Not sure where to go from here. New coil? Have the valves checked? I would take it to the shop, but the waiting list is 3 weeks and I need it to plow snow. Any ideas??? Thanks Porps
  9. Have a 2002 Kawasaki 650 Prairie.Have just had carbs rebuilt($950 bill) & it still pops back through carbs.Mostly at 1/4-1/2 throttle.What can I tell mechanic to do when I take it back?(A Kawasaki dealer mechanic)
  10. Hey guys I'm a newbie here and have read all the posts trying to find my problem. I recently purchased this wheeler with less than 650 miles on it. I had to jimmy the key switch after I got home with a new battery and fresh gas, because my grandson lost the key, my question is, the reverse override does not work. Is this because of the key switch being modified? Also the wheeler runs good from 0-45 mph, then it just kind of lays down to top out at 55-57 mph depending on tail wind with my fat arse on it. When I release the throttle it appears to have an engine break that engages ASAP. Is this normal or is it something to do with the reverse overide button not working? I have heard of similar things on different wheelers. Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks guys.

I blew a belt a yr ago ,then replaced it and flipped the belt switch all was good for a while ,then the lites started to blink on dash so i opened the belt cover an found that the drive pulley was bent so i replaced it all looked good 1in drop on belt as to specs .but now i cant get the belt lite to reset .so i have no power an runs like crap and no 4x4 .i need this machine for plowing the mountain drive i live on .iv been to about every site i can find on pc u tube was helpful but .the problem is they all talk about a black an gray plug on the right side of motor under the shifter that u revers the plugs for 10 seconds an all is reset .but i don't have 2 plugs .i only have 1 and there is a secondary insert that can be removed and then u can revers the plug and plug it back to itself to revers the, polarity i think .am i missing something here .any help would be appreciated .does any one have this type of wiring.and can tell me how to reset the computer so i have full power and can use 4x4 again .   12. I have a Kawasaki prairie 650. It has about 500hrs. Anyway I changed the front differential oil and I noticed it was slipping. As I turned around to head home my front end became extremely wobbly. As I slowed down to baby it home I heard a really loud bang. It made it home but barley. Nothing visibility broke so I'm figuring the differential locked up. Can someone please lead me in the right direction. Thanks

  14. I purchsed new, only used one season less than 20 hours. Sat in my shop for next 10 years. I removed fuel tank to clean and changed oil and plug. Will not start unless I give it a shot of either then it starts right up. any ideas
  15. Had clutches apart when reringed engine. Now when I come t a stop there is a clanging noise coming from housing It also seems like something doesn't disengage when I come to a stop. It doesn't do it as much if I bring the rpm up a tad when I stop. I read from an old post to clean everything with brake clean. I'm going to try that first, but if anyone has any other Ideas like to hear them. Thanks Bob.
