1. Hi, 2 years ago I got a 2002 Kawasaki Lakota Sport 300 for $50. Yes, I know, vary cheap, and it came with issues. The issues were, a leaky oil cap, a carburetor that fails when going up or down hill, and a flat tire that will not fill up. It also has a broken exhaust, as in broken, the tip of the exhaust is no longer there, so it is loud, but works fine. I have the oil cap, and a carb repair kit, but I need help finding a right rear tire for it, also I need ether a entirely new exhaust for it or somehow repair it, I dont have the old piece to the exhaust. Feel free to ask me questions. I will put a pic of what the exhaust is supposed to look like.
2. Hey All, Looking for some recommendations on an ATV for my Daughters-in-law to ride when they visit with my sons. We ride mostly woods trails. It needs to be fairly easy to ride, automatic is't necessary but shifting should be forgiving and it needs to be under $2000. I have a Banshee and a Polaris Sportsman 500HO now. One DIL is tiny, 5' and about 100lbs, the other is about 5'8" and 130lbs. I'm concerned that steering on the Sportsman may require too much upper body strength and the Banshee is definitely not a beginner's ride. I'm thinking about a Warrior (may be under powered) or a Honda 400EX but I'd love to hear what others might suggest? Thanks!
3. Is there such a thing as a battery blanket made for ATV sized batteries? I've also heard of a battery 'plate' which I assume would be put directly under the battery. If someone could point the way to either of these much obliged. Also, maybe any other ideas on how to keep your batt warm that would go directly in the battery compartment? Trying to avoid just throwing a tarp over and putting a space heater under. Need an option with lower wattage consumption. thanks
4. My mother has just developed a fairly serious case of sciatica, which is a condition where you have some serious leg pain as the result of a pinched sciatic nerve. One of the exercises she does in physical therapy is simply the therapist holding onto her foot and pulling away from her hips as she lays on her back on a table. To replicate this exercise at home they have recommended an inversion table (where you turn upside down and hang from your feet), but since she's not too keen on this idea I'm trying to figure out how to replicate this exercise...which is where the idea of a remotely operated winch comes in. I don't really have a wide range of knowledge when it comes to what equipment is out there that can help me accomplish this goal, but I'm not too shabby at designing things and since I just installed a superwinch on my grizz this is the first idea I've come up with. Basically I'm imagining using some kind of winch whose rope would be worked through a pulley system that would end attached to a shoe which Mom would put on, lie down and use the remote switch to gently stretch the leg. - Winch (if an ATV winch) would be powered by a 12v car battery hooked up to a trickle charger - Safety mechanisms would include... - a light switch dimmer inline between the 12v battery and the winch so speed can be adjusted. - possibly using one of those stretchy rubber exercise resistance bands in the line segment to regulate and ease the pulling - a remote power cut off switch paired with the remote 'in/out' switch Honestly I could just go ahead and make this system myself, and I'm fairly sure it would work, but I thought I'd bounce this idea off a mechanically minded community to see if there are any ideas how I could improve on the design. Since I'm only familiar with ATV winches at this point that's what I've imagined using. But if anyone is aware of a 110v based winch that would be more appropriate, that would surely help in simplifying powering the system since it'll be located indoors. Only requirement for the winch would be that it would need both an in and out function operated by a remote switch. And since the winch would only need to pull between 10-20 lbs it wouldn't need to be nearly as beefy as the ATV type. Sorry for the long write up here but I'm certainly glad for your time and open to your opinions and suggestions.
5. Are any of the after market muffler silencers effective and worth it? I have a 2004 Artic Cat 500 4x4 (It has the dump box) that is very loud compared to my brothers 2008. Thanks for any opinions and Happy Holidays!
6. I have a 2011 linhai Bighorn atv 200 it looses power at half throttle and beyond and of course the rpm's drop,I've replaced the cdi, coil, stator, regulator and the Carb, still have a problem
7. Okay so my question is not could you buy a diesel engine and put it in a quad. My question is, could you take any atv put high comp rings, an injector, bypass the carb, get a small injector pump and run if off the electronics all ready in the quad and make it run? I know it might run like chit but would it work? Why out all the sensors and crap?
8. I am looking for a ATV for my grand daughter that has a governor. She has never been on one without me or her grandfather. I need help to know what kind to get for her I have a little bit of time as I plan on getting it for her for Christmas. Help....... Please........
9. I recently was given a 2005 Chinese ATV, No marking what so ever other than on the side of the head it says 10cm3, which i think means that it is a 90cc? Trying to figure out which cdi it needs, as I have diagnosed that i am only geting .1 v at the coil, it also has a alarm (no fob) which ive read you can just unplug to bypass, i have the vin number it is l5nsumcc45t009855 but that isnt helping much... The motor cranks, but no spark checked the kill switches etc.

12. Badlands or red bird? Or somewhere else. I wanna do trailing, mudding, hill climbing. Pretty much everything. Which do you prefer? Or maybe a different park? I want it to be a cheaper cost if it is a different park and camping if possible.
13. Hello all, new here. At a total loss as to what this is... also, only ran on day 1 of having it! There are no identifying markings that I can find. It ran great on day 1, sat for a few days. Now getting it started is a chore, and if it does fire up, its drivable for a few mins before giving up. I have very little engine experience outside of the 2.2/2.5 turbo mopars...Any help is appreciated
14. Anyone had any experience with the Coolster youth ATV's? Mainly the 110cc? Thanks!

19. Hi everyone- first of all I am very new to the site, as well as very new to ATV's in general, and I could use some straightening out on this matter as I've had conflicting info given... Im thinking about getting 99 Mojave on craigslist for $800, and they were going to deliver to me as well which seemed nice (im about an hour away, we're both in IL). Well everything was fine, quad looked good, said it ran well but was cold blooded, and they are throwing in extra tires, frame, & shocks (they said shocks would need replaced soon) -Honestly I am not sure whether that alone is a decent deal or not, so an opinion on that would be welcome too. Anyway, real problem raised when I asked about a title: said they didn't have one, it wasnt necessary. Well, talking to a friend he said if I ever want to take it out to any parks or anything I'll need to have it registered and get a public access sticker. Said if the guy doesnt have a title I should get a bill of sale and have the guy email me the vin number so I could double check it wasnt stolen- when asked the guy about the vin and he got incredibly annoyed, said he works 12hr days and doesnt have time to check if it's even visible, and if the deal was off because of that then so be it... That's where we left off... So please, as Im very new to all this any educated opinion would be so welcome and greatly appreciated! I really don't want to make another move before I hear some advice from someone who knows what's what and am stuck in a bind until then Please let me know what you think, and thanks so much guys for helping this super-newbie! Also, here is the craigslist link for the guys ad incase it helps anything: https://peoria.craigslist.org/bar/4696776037.html
20. Hello all! This forum has already helped with a lot of the ATV related questions I have had so I thought I would say thanks and hello. I just picked up what I believe to be a 1993 Big Bear 350 4x4. It runs but smokes a lot, and it left a fairly large puddle of oil on the floor after sitting over night. Other than that it seems to be in OK shape, tires are good and all the parts seem to be there except for the rear rack. Hopefully I will be able to get started on it this weekend. Let the fun begin!
