  1. My 2008 sportsman 500 EFI won’t show any signs of starting. I have replaced the battery, when I turn the key on…nothing, just like a dead battery? Any suggestions what could be wrong? Thanks
  2. Is there such a thing as a battery blanket made for ATV sized batteries? I've also heard of a battery 'plate' which I assume would be put directly under the battery. If someone could point the way to either of these much obliged. Also, maybe any other ideas on how to keep your batt warm that would go directly in the battery compartment? Trying to avoid just throwing a tarp over and putting a space heater under. Need an option with lower wattage consumption. thanks
  3. Arctic Cat 2006 ATV 500. The battery is dead overnight. Recharges fine with 1 amp charger. I disconnected the negative cable from the battery and put a meter between that post and the cable with everything turned off. It read a 10 volt draw. I pulled each fuse one at a time. The power draw went to zero when I pulled the ACC fuse and no others. The engine starts and runs without the fuse but the display panel keeps starting to show then goes off briefly. The display works fine with the fuse in place. What is the most likely culprit? How do I get to it? How do I fix it.
  4. I dont know what size the factory battery was. The kart is out of town and i cant measure it.The battery i have is bad and its smaller than the factory size. i looked it up on Kazuma parts.com and lots of places but they dont list them model specific
  5. Should this quad run without a battery once you get it started? I don't have a battery, but I boosted it to start it. As soon as I disconnect the cables, it dies. I thought these engines would run without a battery so I am wondering what other problems I have? Thank you, Chris
  6. i am wanting to put a batter on my shee . cause i been doing alot of night riding and i really hate how it dims. i been looking and this seems good just wanted some input before i purchase? thanks Link HERE
  7. battery hooked up backwards what elec. componets will i need to replace?
  8. 2003 baja ds650. How can I check to see if its charging my batterie
  9. Ok, a couple months ago I bought a heavily used 1994 Yamaha timberwolf 250 2x4 quad. It needs a lot of work.. stuff that I'm slowly going through. One interesting question I have is... The battery in the quad is going bad. It won't hold a charge for very long so I have to charge the quad every time I go to ride and hope it doesn't die. So I thought the battery was just going bad so I ordered a new one. I hadn't taken the old battery out when I ordered a new one, just figured I'd leave it in there until the new one came in. When the new one came in, I filled it and charged it properly. Put it in the quad, but it would not turn it over. The light comes on when I turn the key on, but it won't do anything for the quad as far as starting it.... no click or anything. I know the battery is charged and working properly. I thought maybe I ordered the wrong battery, but online it says that it's the right battery. The new battery that I just bought is a Moto Power CB12C-A. Looked at the old battery and it says it's a Superior 12N14-3A which looks to me like a battery used on older, bigger motorcycles. One, why won't the battery I just bought work? And two, any guesses why that 12N14-3A battery was used (and seems to work properly other than the lack of holding a charge, which I attribute to just being pretty old)? Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  10. I am in need of a battery for my Honda TRX 250, but its up at my cabin and so i cant see what kind is in there? Can anybody help me out as to what kind I need? Thanks!
  11. is the battery from a 07 450er the same as a regular 450r?
  12. I bought a used 2004 Suzuki Vinson 500 and it ran great the first 2 times I ran it. A week later, I went to use it to plow the drive and it wouldn't start with the key. There was nothing lit up on the digital dash. I did pull start it successfully and ran it for a while thinking the battery was dead but the instrument panel was flashing off and on and I still could not shift to 4 wheel drive or use the winch. When I shut it down an hour later, I tried turning the key again and it was completely dead. Any idea's?
  13. 1991 sportsman 400 not charging batt. is the charging wire on the starter or starter solenoid? any help would be much appreciated. do i have to buy a manual to get a wiring diagram?
  14. whats up guys, need a little help here, the battery in my 96 honda fourtraxx 300 keeps draining. I disconnected the battery kickstarted it and tested power generated at battery terminals with motor only and was gettting 3.5 volts dc at idle and the quad ran fine with lights. I then hooked battery up and checked started cylinoid for continuity with key on and off and had continuity both times, I also was able to start my quad by shorting terminals on starter cylinoid with key on and off as well. I checked wires, connections and 2 fuses by battery and all checked out of, I assume its the starter cylinoide or is their things to check before buying parts--- thanks for your help
  15. guy that had it before me had a bad battery in it but he could still ride it on pull start and did for like 2 weeks and i got it and put a brand new battery in it and within a week it was dead found out it was to small of a battery for the wheeler and got another new one and still does it i checked the voltage on the battery with the wheeler running and it steadily drops voltage off the battery and if you rev it up it sucks it even faster but the stator is working correctly i already checked that, any ideas???
  16. I will be off in the woods for 2 weeks without electricity or generator and want to use the bike charging system to recharge a 12v utility battery I use for lighting in camp. My idea is to run the utility battery down to 11.0volts (while lighting at nite), then connect it to the bike battery during the 5 - 6 hours I would be riding during the next day. I am hoping it would come close to being fully recharged during that time. Bike is a 1997 Explorer 400 4x4 with a new battery. Anyone any idea how well this recharging would work and/or if this would damage the bike charge system?? I would try it first with no lites or accessories on. Also thought it would be good to allow both batteries to become kind of voltage balanced (battery leaching)before starting the bike to reduce the initial charging. load.

  19. I have a kfx450r which keeps frying batteries. I have replaced the battery 3 times already and they will work for 2-3 hours then the next day i go to use the atv i get a FAST Ckick noise in the nose of the atv. Seems like might be a shorted Voltage Regulator or a bad Stator..? Is there an test I can do or does anyone have an electronic manual to trouble shoot this.? This Quad only has like 20 hours on it max....Strangestuff ATV has ProCircuit Exhaust, Aftermarket Computer.
  20. Please help, someone - anyone. I'm trying to correct some problems with a friends Brute Force and I'm down to the last one, that I know of. The 4X4 fuse hast to be pulled when the ATV is parked or the battery will go dead. If the fuse is not pulled the ATV's battery will go dead overnight. However, when the 4x4 fuse is pulled the ATV can sit for days and the battery will NOT go dead. Can anyone explain and point me in the right direction to fix the problem. I'm think the 4x4 relay is bad or there has to be some sort of short circuit. The 4x4 and switch work fine, it just runs the battery down when parked and I'm getting tired of having to pull the fuse every day. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance for any and all HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
