New to atvs and just purchased a 2002 Yami Bear Tracker 250. Had a few minor issues but got it at a fair price of $1000. Bought a service manual over the weekend. It has a torn black cv boot. I have ordered one but was wondering how difficult it will be to replace and If anyone has any personal experience with this one. Thanks.

I got a branch stuck up under my back axle on the right side and it sheared the boot closet to the tire off. The guy at the atv place said I'd have to take the boot off on the inside too, because that's the way they designed it. I'm hoping this is bull crap, and I only have to fix the one. Either way, I bought new boots and bands for each on the back right side. I need to buy a banding tool with a cutter next, to complete the ensemble. My question is, how hard of a fix is this? I was going to ask my uncle if he could do it. I know it'll be a greasy mess, but is it simple? I don't want it to get torn apart just to end up being hauled over to the garage. I want to get some use out of it this summer, since I spent a good penny on new front tires for it this spring, along with brand new oil/filter, and spark plug. It does me no good sitting in the barn looking dejected and forlorn.

I have two of these quads and right now both have torn inner cv boots. The stock boots look the cheesy p.o.s and will continue to tear on a regular basis. Does anyone know of an upgraded more durable cv boot for these machines?

I have a ripped cv boot on the rear of my wheeler is it pretty easy to put a new 1 on myself or should I leave it up to a shop to do? I can get the kit for under 20 bucks but the shop I use for major stuff says it would be around 50 to 60 to fix it. They have a tool that stretches the boot over the shaft I guess sure wish I could find 1 would save me in the long run

If anyone can offer any assistance in replacing the rear cv boot any help would be appreciated. I am having trouble getting the rear shaft off of the quad. I figured the part would have some sort of manual but that would be too easy. Thanks again!

Ok, Anyone tell me how to get the front ankle (not sure of name) part apart to get the old boot off and new one on? It's a 4X4 front drive axle and the boot closest to the wheel. Foreman 500. The part is attached. Motorcycle Parts|ATV Parts|Honda|Kawasaki|Suzuki|Yamaha|Dealer|Wholesale Discount Prices
